our narrative is confused
Our ‘narrative’ is one where the Supreme Court Bar Association is trying to overturn the disqualification of politicians for corruption.
Our narrative is one where the media openly advocates in favor of corrupt politicians and gives them and their agenda and conspiracies about the current government falling more airtime than anything else.
Sarcastic tweets, posts and one liners on air against the incumbent government and the Prime Ministers Wife are considered more important than proper analysis on critical issues facing the country.
We have a so called ‘top, senior, journalist’, Hamid Mir, undermining Pakistan’s position on J&K and equating the hate & atrocities in India with Pakistan - how many other ‘top, senior journalists’, academics, bar associations, press clubs etc have come out to condemn him?
Our academics are more focused on tearing down anyone and everyone over issues like ‘the elites are appropriating the culture of the poor’ because some popular Pakistani rap artists come from wealthy families.
We whine and cry over harsh measures taken by the government to stabilize the economy for the long term and rectify long standing structural problems, despite the fact that many of us had been arguing in favor of such measure for years before the PTI government came into power.
So how exactly is ‘our narrative’ supposed to be promoted and what exactly is ‘our narrative’?
