Report: Egypt's army planning to attack targets in Gaza

. .
Yeah but in light of all the closing of tunnels in Sinai, the logistics will be very complicated. Before Iran operated through smuggling of weapons through these tunnels via bedouin network in Egypt.
Right now Hamas and Gaza are very much besieged from all sides.

That's true, and they resort to other tactics that way. Like, sending Iranian weapons experts to Gaza and producing their weapons there.

Right now, they are armed well, during the 8th day of the war in November they got a large arms shipment which was replaced and caused a surplus in weapons lost or used during the war.

Why don't you utilise your time in ferrying some medicines and shells from those underground tunnels from across the border ??

I don't need medicine, I need more diapers.

@Hazzy997, report the trash and don't waste your time:)

It's okay, let's let him have a little fun here and there. :)

I have considered all facts and that is no fruitful result could be arrived at by holding repeated failed talks. In the end might will have it's way as always as evident from many instances from history.

Repeated failed talks? See, this is why I can't take you seriously.

. .
I thought GOP has had talks with TTP on previous 9 occasions.Am I wrong ??

Pretty much, it was one real attempt and even then the gov gave in too easily and didn't take the military's advice.

So sad your dreams are shattered.

It's way better than Pakistan where Army acts only after geting public support on streets while your Genrals act unilaterally and seize the power. Egypt's per capita GDP is way better than your country's, so start comming out of conspiracy world and feel the reality.

Hamas isn't messing with Egypt, you've been misinformed by this propaganda campaign lately. The Sinai is a mixture of tribal and armed groups who are upset with the government because they have been largely ignored as citizens for a while now.

Egypt got surprised those groups would attack Egyptian military installations after they came to crackdown on those groups, so they try to divert the situation in the media by claiming it isn't Egyptian military on Egyptian violence and want to put all eyes on Gaza.

It's a cheap and sick tactic, if they go ahead with attacking an enclave that they blockade and siege along with Israel they will regret it.

I'm not accusing Hamas of anything but I find it hard to believe that the Egyptian authorities with all it's intelligence capabilities and evidences accuse Hamas of hostile activities out of nothing. I mean, there must be sth that made Egypt turn against Hamas like this. Hamas will hurt Palestinians and their interests in the short and long run if they don't fix their relations with Egypt.

Report: Egypt's army planning to attack targets in Gaza | JPost | Israel News

The Egyptian army has planned military attacks on specific targets in the Gaza Strip in the event that the security situation in the northern Sinai peninsula deteriorates, a senior Egyptian security official told the Ma'an news agency.

The source said that Egyptian reconnaissance planes had photographed the potential targets.

The plan to attack targets in Gaza is based on the Egyptian assessment that some of the attacks in the northern Sinai, especially in El Arish and in Rafah were carried out by armed Palestinians based in Gaza.

The security source said that the Egyptian Army is specifically targeting the extremist groups in Gaza who are regarded as hostile and it does not view the entire population there in this way.

The recent attack on the intelligence center in Rafah was carried out by the extremist Gaza groups, the source told Ma'an.

Last week Egypt opened the Rafah crossing, its main border with the Gaza Strip after it was closed for a week and-a-half

The terminal had been closed most of the time since the ouster of former Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi on July 3 due to the Egyptian accusation leveled against Hamas of its involvement in terrorist attacks against Egyptian soldiers in Sinai – an allegation the Islamist movement has vehemently denied.

Egypt recently warned of a military response if Hamas or other Palestinian groups try to violate Egyptian security in Sinai.

.........................................

:no::rofl::disagree:

Well the Egyptian military leadership is wise enough to work towards robust peace and (mostly) refrain from using terror groups as 'auxiliary forces'. If they need to send a military message to Palestinian terror groups creating a mess for the Egyptians, then I fully support that, and even thank the Egyptians for having that courage to go against (very foolish, for continuing to think and advocate that counter-productive violence is useful / divinely sanctioned) islamic terrorists (in the guise of freedom fighters or not).

No it's not Hamas, it's a couple small groups who are based in Egypt but have affiliates in Gaza. Hamas has fought with them before.

Even if Egyptian intelligence is somewhat true, they need to cooperate with Hamas. This would solve many problems they claim to have in Sinai, which actually are very little portion of their problems there.

But, they are purposefully choosing to avoid cooperation in an attempt to try to humiliate Hamas and give credibility to Fatah. It's a game they've been playing for a while now.

Before they should consider minor issues in the place they left ungoverned, they should take care of their economy and help their impoverished population pull out of their struggle.

Egyptian army doesn't know how to manage the nations resources and that's why they have problems where they don't need them, such as agriculture.

No, those are almost like naturalized Palestinians who have second class citizenship after they were ousted from their lands and became refugees during several major wars.

Most aren't coming out of Gaza and Egyptians consist of those fighting the military as well.
