The currently used G3 is an outdated model that is still being used by Pak army. A lot of variants put out by POF are modifications to the basic G3 and MP5 model. Putting the issue of money aside, what would be the best service rifle that POF should start licensed production of (considering Pakistan's climate, terrain, ammunition use, tactics..etc)?
I personally approve of german designs: G36 and HK416. Both operate on the gas bolt design (just like the AK47) which is more reliable and works well even when the gun is dirty (dust, rain, etc). This is well suited for Pakistani terrain compared to the american M4 design which experienced jams too often in the Afghan terrain. POF already produces G3 and MP5 under license from HK so licensed production of G36 or 416 would be easier to secure.
Which gun do you guys favour for Pak army service rifle and why?
