BTW, can somebody give me a quick lowdown of the whole week, Malik riaz case and all. I was away from the world while at Umrah, so didn't know anything.

no offence to Bhutto lovers and frankly the bhutto discussion never ends, he was only mentioned because the only and only reason people vote for pppp and will continue to vote so is Bhutto

anyway current govt is very much similar in performance to his regime of 1973-77 (in econmy and inflation, due to nationalization) ..and i dont see any reason why PPPP will lose election, they are going to distribute over 150 billion ruppes equal to half of the developmental project in their workers through benazir income programme.

do you think a few people in forums who are educated represent the bulk of voters..answer is definitely no

i dont know how would that help..
we know that PML N and PTI both are becoming popular, it seems that PPPP would still hold its vote bank while ANP and MQM will remain unchanged...

this means that net result is that PPPP allaince chances are getting brighter..
had PML N or PTI gotten majority of popularity then PPPP chances would have been dim.

also they are going to play their trump card now, what they are going to do is that solve load-shedding problem somewhere near November and claim that load shedding is over to get votes..remember load-shedding problem isnt due to deficiency of power plants , its only a management problem (we have as of today a capcity of 22,000 vs demand of only 18,000)

I want some answers as I am not able to understand Pak politics here (no offence intended):

1. The issue was opening cases against President Zardari on the first place, Mr. Gilani refused it & court dismissed him on contemt of court, with new PM again from PPP how will he open cases against Zardari, the head of his party, so is he also doomed to fall? will this not result in formation of a vicious circle?

Thats the whole game PPP is trying to play. There was also a minor difference evolving b/w Gilani and Zardari. But now, Zardari is going to do everything. Previously, Gilani did alot of stuff on his own. But Raja Rental is not that kind of person, he will lick Zardari's a** all night long


2. In giving this verdict why did the SC of Pak not take in account the seriously volatile Political, economical & military situation of the country?

There is alot more going on that can give us a shock than this

3. Does this mean dictatorship in Pak is more stable than democracy in Pak?

How? The reason is that when a Mush like dictator comes, the court is his.But in democracy, the court is free, and the court quickly points out the mistakes of the government, while for a dictator, court can't.

4. Does the Pakistani people now want just a new PM or general elections?

5. Why did not the SC uphold the constitution which it is trusted with to save at any cost by not giving immunity to the president of the country??

I frankly dont have a answer to that, but the current president is highly un-popular, so nobody cares about Zardari. This is a stupid rule BTW, immunity in the islamic republic of pakistan.

6. Is this a signal of return of military at the helm of affairs??

Definitely not.

I was wondering when Rehman Malik was removed from the Interior Ministry, he was made Advisor to the prime Minister with powers of Interior Minister.... How about Yousuf Raza Gilani? Advisor to the Prime Minister ---- and having similar role of a PM by remaining with him side by side

they are still going to win 25% seats as usual
ANP is still going to win as their isnt a good force there after MMA fiasco
and MQM is still as popular

dont be surprised if PMLN and PTI fiasco leads us to another PPPP govt due to division of SANE votes between them
