Renewable Energy in Turkey

Turkey builds it's biggest solar farm in the middle of desert, so "wasting fertile lands" is not a big problem for us.
I don't know man I'd rather keep our investments within our borders. Seeing as our diplomatic relations with the surrounding countries is so volatile.

In coming years. There will be a conflict over gas in the Mediterranean. I don't know where turkey in this and today egypt respond to çavuşoğlu about that turkey will extract gas from Mediterranean soon. Guys please if you have more info or picture of which gas sites that Turkey believes it belongs to inform me or put it here. It's a very interesting topic and can cause wars

Turkey has found gas in Trakya, an on the black sea coast but nothing big so far. We have oil in Batman, but again nothing special.

We will be drilling in the mediterranean soon. Basically everything from Hatay to Antalya will be surveyed.

Best table I have seen so far!

Natural Gas is in 4th line, with only about %18. Wind is %15, impressive! While share for PV is rising day by day.

The share of renewable energies isnt even that bad but considering 40% of the energy is being produced by imports we really need to push it.
Also Nuclear power will help a lot but there is a huge problem here, what are we gonna do with the radioactive waste?

.
Waste will go back to Russia, "unlesss Turkish government wants them to stay in Turkey". At least that is what Rosatam told long ago.

Yeah thats the case for the Russian one but what about the French one?

I don't know any French company that wants to build nuclear power plant in Turkey. Afaik there are 2 more planned Nuclear power plant projects in Turkey, the one in Sinop will be built with Mitsubishi, the one in Edirne will be built with China. Are there fourth project?

On 3 May 2013, the then Turkish prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his Japanese counterpart Shinzō Abe, signed a deal over US$22 billion for the construction of the Sinop Nuclear Power Plant that will be carried out by a joint venture consortium of Japanese Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and French Areva.[8] The Atmea reactor will be used.[9]

I had France only in my mind for some reason.

.
Areva is probably sub-contractor, to supply parts where Mitsubishi couldn't. We wouldn't have any waste problem with Japan nor China. They invested nuclear waste storing technologies so much in last decades.

I'm not sure if that project is on hold and the 3rd one that was planned with Toshiba's Westinghouse is halted probably too because Westinghouse is being liquidated.
