Now I understand why you guyz guyz hate them.
Convert the prices into dollar equivalents and much of the disparity disappears, although not completely.

nope for example
I am comparing the base models here
Swift (pakistan) 12600$
Swift (India) 7270$
Wagon R(Pakistan) 10000$
Wagon R(India) 6315$
What disparity remains is due to the atrocious taxation structure imposed by the government, beyond the control of the manufacturers.
I can't comment on that but the difference is huge
The differences are due to the exchange rate and the taxation. Both factors are not up to the manufacturers to control. These adverse factors lead to decontenting the vehicles for the local market.
As I said I can't comment on taxation but even in the dollar terms the difference can't be neglected
I am not neglecting the difference, but merely describing the factors that can explain it.
You better see a doctor asap.great...
now emiratis will take advantage of pakistan's retarded auto sector.
I have a question. If the quality is good and the real problem is taxation, then what difference would it make even if another companies enter Pakistan. The situation would remain same.
High taxation is only a small part of the explanation. If other players enter the market with competitive offerings, consumers in Pakistan will not be limited to one brand (in the case of the hatchback market) or two (in the case of the sedan market) - this should create a competitive market structure which should lead to lower prices and better value for money.I have a question. If the quality is good and the real problem is taxation, then what difference would it make even if another companies enter Pakistan. The situation would remain same.
I hope Pakistan auto policy eases on the engine specs to make it easier on the consumers and tax breaks for the assembly of the Automakers. Good news!!!
The problem with allowing tax breaks for larger engine capacities is the unaffordable rise in oil imports due to increased consumption, further aggravating the already bad balance of payments.
