Renaming the Hindu Kush?

I am in favor of renaming the Hindu Kush, are you also in favor of renaming the Hindu Kush Mountains...

Should Muslims reclaim the land by it's name...?


Any thoughts the land is now inhabited by Musulman's no longer Hindus...


For example, I thought of an interesting Geo-graphical comparison. Today we refer to Istanbul as Istanbul the name adopted and given by Ottoman/Turkish Musulman's to the city in 1453 c.e., we no longer refer to it as Constantinople -the name of the city when it was still under Byzantine rule...I can think of so many more...


Today the "Hindu Kush" mountains are inhabited by Muslims, ruled by Muslims, and within two Muslim countries (Afghanistan and Pakistan) but in the case of Pakistan I agree we should rename these Mountains to something that suits our identity!!!

No, original should be maintained. Renaming it would make Muslims look very small and petty.

It's tradition and history. For example there are lot of muslim name towns in India Ahmedabad, Aurangabad, Allahabad etc. Tommorow Hindu extrimisty try chage these things. This is very small thinking.

It does not matter Omar. It't history and I dont think Pakistan own it's own can change the mountain range's name because it runs in two countries right? So wouldn't it need Afganistan's permission too? You can change mountain's name own it's own, I don;t know about the whole mountain range that runs in two countries.

There are so many market places, towns etc in Pak which carry a hindu / christian name. Would you like to re name them as well ? .. and to what avail ?

Even if it means Hindu Killer, the name should not be changed. Its part of History. It should be remembered.

Why do you forget that there are millions of Hindus in Pakistan and you're basically saying I like the sound of the name of "Pakistani killers".
