After mapping of the village Kunal by the experts of the Archaeology department, the excavation was started and sand particles found during excavation have cleared the possibility that river used to exist at this place, but it is yet to be proved. Though, the satellite images have given indication that a river used to flow in this area, he added.

Teams of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) of the United States and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) would inspect the excavation being carried out at an archaeological site in Haryana's Fatehabad district to verify claims of it being the oldest civilisation in the world.

Archaeologists have recovered artefacts pre-dating the Harappan Civilisation from the site, located in village Kunal in Fatehabad district.

NASA and ISRO inspection is likely to be done in October this year, 2017, Haryana Archaeology and Museums Minister Ram Bilas Sharma said on Monday.

"The recovery of artefacts, estimated to be 6,000 years old, strongly indicated that the civilisation that had flourished in Kunal was in fact the oldest civilisation in the world. The Harappan Civilisation, considered so far to be the oldest civilisation, flourished about 3,500 years ago," the Minister said.

The artefacts recovered included ornaments and pots, apart from spherical structures.

You will find many such places all along the river Indus. Although carbon dating has not proven itself to be conclusive but it can be safely assumed that humans have inhabited these lands before the ice age as well.
Similarly the ancient river which flew in parallel with Indus on the India side still remains largely unearthed.

There is no need to guess, Genetic mapping has established the time when humans moved into South Asia. I am talking about evidence of Hindu civilization mentioned in the Hindu scriptures which dates back to this period.

How far back you willing to go? When Lanka was still attached to India?

There is no denying the possibility but i was only referring to the fact that archeological should find it's way to these parts again.

Apart from the DNA and Archaeological evidences (carbon dating), The astronomical based dating, based on historical texts, shows that Ramayana took place around 12000 BCE and Mahabharata took place around 5500 BCE.

That puts Ramayana right around the last ice age which means that the oceanic distance India and Sri Lanka would have been much smaller than the 50 KM that we have today.
