That's the lumber 1 logic, cherry picking countries that are not known for remittances inflows.

It's like saying Argentina is not the WC champion because it didn't beat Pakistan in football.

Here is the data from world bank where I have picked some of the many countries where remittances have dropped.

My source is World Bank’s KNOMAD, launched by the International Working Group to Improve Data on Remittance Flows .

Looks pretty much okay to me..none of them had 13% drop.
I guess i have to go back and learn maths

No its not..demographics are different. Governance systems are different and for economic models a better economic model for Pakistan to follow is that of Vietnam and Indonesia.

Why is Pakistan comparable to Vietnam and Indonesia?

These two countries are almost in the bracket of 2nd world countries. Part of the most economic prosperous block called ASEAN. Are strictly non aligned and maintain good relations with almost every country.

Indonesia is rich in natural resources and have a huge backlog of educated youth to drive economic growth.

Vietnam’s human resources have been driving economic growth multifolds in the past few years.

Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia have greatly benefited from close cooperation.

Very little to compare with Pakistan. Comparing with Bangladesh and India makes sense, as alot of human capital is forced to go abroad to make a living and sending back home in the form of remittances. All three (to a different degree) suffer from poverty, literacy and chronic over population. Add to the fact all three (to a different degree) are high on extremism opium.
