I don't know man. Sometimes I look at the top charts or watch those singing competition shows from China and I don't recognize like 80% of the songs. I'm not sure whether there are regional differences. So I was surprised to know that Singaporean singers like 林俊杰 孙燕姿 阿杜 have some popularity in China.

In fact their careers are mostly in mainland China and Taiwan.

Yeap, they launched their career in Taiwan. Singapore's is too small a stage for them to shine.

There are a few who's based primarily in Singapore in the 80s/90s, but I think they are much less popular in Greater China. The songs sung by them are called Xinyao 新谣 (新加坡民谣). A different flavor but I like it.
