This is not a one off event, this is a result of a long drawn tension between two countries. US's policy has fundamentally changed. US has long cut Pakistan from India and now Pakistan is politically attached with Afghanistan (AF-PAK policy). US will never allow Pakistan any leverage over the more economically and politically fruitful India.


Well using options has costs and I don't think any cost can outweigh the sovereignty.

They had oil and a well established economy we are still extremely dependent on others
Without oil we will end up like North Korea being an idealist is good but in the real world things work differently

You weigh the pros and cons before taking a decision we couldnt do it during Kiyani and Musharaf time what makes you think we can now?
There is a reason we dont do that our leaders are ok with them(civil and military) if you really wosh to reply to them in a firm manner first reject their civil and military aid

Not really he is continuing the same policy the only difference is Zardari had a better understanding with Kiyani while stupid Nawaz has a habit of shooting himself in the foot

Kiyani started the Swat operation at that time Islamabad was close to being captured he actually turned the tide against taliban Raheel Sharif just continued his policy
We have a short memory in 2007-8 we had taliban militants actually announcing in mahor mosques of Islamabad that in a few months all of Pakistan will be ruled by them
I still remember a huge number of normal ordinary Islamabadis cheering for them
