I grew up in Canada and the US, had friends from all over the world.

Many Indians and Chinese friends. My observations over the years of school and surrounding in general is that Chinese and Indians get along great.

For some reason when I go on the net it is a whole different story. Do Chinese and Indians in the West go home and start bashing each other on the internet or is it mainly Chinese from China or Indians from India that don't like each other?

it's people who hasn't seen the outside world, or people who are rich and spoiled, so probably that's the way they treat all people anyway.

So second option more likely.

It's obvious. Anyone who has studied in a US university will note that Indians and Chinese students get along with each other very well.

In my opinion, it has more to do with work ethic. Most Indians (well, at least the studious ones) and Chinese are very hard working and dedicated. During my university years, I always keen on forming study groups with Chinese and Korean colleagues because of the level of commitment they had.

Chinese and Korean students, in general, are very easy going and I always liked hanging around with them. And I'm pretty sure the feeling was mutual. :)

Unfortunately, the people from the two countries have not interacted with each other much. And hence, there is a lot of misunderstanding. As people to people contact increases, there is no doubt the political animosity between India and China will decrease.

Just like Harold and Kumar. That is a great film, saw it in Delhi the first time.

My best mates are Indian, my girlfriend is Indian, does that say anything about Chinese-Indian relations?

Also Harold and Kumar go to Guantanamo is quite probably the best coemdy I've ever seen.

chinese girls are surely hottest out there and smart but they have same problem all that future planning and shyt. that scares you.

This is members club so we can talk freely.

The Indians and Chinese living in west or anywhere else are in real self.

But on Internet there is 50 cent army, just to post off topic troll and earn 50 cent.

They are doing their job, that's it.

thanks

don't just blame the chinese, there are plenty of indian trolls out there as well.

When people deal with each other on a personal basis (assuming they are not racists), nationality takes a backseat. We might have our prejudices towards the other person's nation, but in our minds, that person's identity will be based on their personality. We see them as an individual, not as a national representative. We see that nation as a collection of people, ordinary people like our friends. So the government or policies of that nation are ignored.

And generally we in asia have a lot in common, so we do get along, especially in western nations, since we are both foreigners.

But when online, we discard the identity of the person. He/she becomes part of his/her nation. Here our individuality or personality has become irrelevant. We are who we represent. Also members who come to defence forums are highly patriotic. And this is an environment for debate (and heated arguments at times) So any prejudices held against a nation will be multiplied in this environment. If we have a certain problem with government of another nation, that problem will be imaged onto the nationals of that nation. Hence the tension and quarrels on forums.

Whenever I feel particular resentment towards a person (usually some troll), I tell myslef that this person is NOT his nation and that I should attribute faults to his personality, not his nation. That allows me to see people as people, and not as a subset of a nation.

Funny story,

My tennis buddy is chinese, he just got married to a Canadian girl. For years though he dated an Indo-Canadian. He would always speak fondly about India(he went there many time with his ex).

That all changed 1 summer though, he was dumped by the girl and was replace by a taller, richer and better looking chinaman. Adding insult to injuries-she kept all his stuff that he left at her house.

he was so into indian culture before but now he just hating- see what a desi girl can do?

East Asians- Chinese have the most homogeneous attitude when it comes to dating outside their ethnicity in the West.

Japanese, Koreans have something like 70% marriage outside their ethinicity.

White boy media will never show you all the blond yearning for a black dude. For every malnourised skinny mail ordered asian bride the white man bone- ten blonds get a brutal pounding from a brother.

you been watching too many american GI movies.

5 dolla 5 dolla me love you long long time

Amy Tan-high is the priestess of  Gora-Chinese culture (Bananas-Yellow outside ... hehe ... gora inside, Coconuts for desis;)) ... I read her books.

Re: desi girls, Chinese girls, Arab girls ... same-same ... they go for the trophy white guy, ... or brown ... 2'nd choice... but keyword here is .. 'Trophy' ... and give him ... hehe ... the yellow fever, the black magic, the oil job ... kamasutra him ... wotever ... I know many :omg: goras who cannot go out with a gori because of ... hehe ... the trauma of Asian girls ... gave them ... this is why goris hated Hong-Kong and Singapore in the days gone by ...

If you look at how Asians treat their daughters, sisters, mothers ... would you blame the girls for launching a hi-fi escape, it's what you'd :hit: call a high profile exit strategy in business? And the girls grow up conservative with their nose between the books ... they are Type A Dr.'s, Lawyers, Engineers, Accountants, Architects, Scientists ... 'endeavour-of -the-mind' types ...

These marriages usually collapse re: the girls' Mama-shahs who hold all the strings. And the girl-Mama-shah tag team run the guy ragged ... until he quits in mental agony ... the the tag team keeps all the goods ... including the kids. Try to prove mental torture in gora ppl.'s court ... this is Asian girl-Mama-shah's high game ... Human R8t's abuse ... in Asian families ... among Asian women ... you think there is as acute awareness of civil liberties, human rights etc ... Ha!
I speak from experience ...

Yeah man i too noticed the same in SFO..

Anyways, apart from Internet or on '65 I never saw Indian Chinese fighting over anything. Indians always regard China as roll model, the way they reached on top and mostly Chinese (I met with) are always interested to know about India and inquire about Buddhist holy places (if they are Buddhist).
