Rejoice! Amazon, eBay, PayPal may Soon Enter Pakistan

What the hell, the monkey sitting as finance minister is doing nothing except sending money out of country. On one side we are fighting for our survival and this monkey on the other side is doing nothing for us.

Why blame Dar if Amazon and Paypal don't want to come?

Why wait for PayPal ..it's not as if Pakistan can't start its own PayPal like service ...these things you can learn from India ...from Paytm to flipkart....home grown industries understand local needs better ...and are hence more successful than foreign comps

Issue is with our policies, rather than these multinationals.

Read the article, Pâkistan invited them. Its now up to them if they want to come or not. I'm sure they will soon come, maybe in couple of years.

Paypal is very important for those Pakistanis who do freelance work.

Daraz. Pk and kamyu are also making huge profits here and that must've encouraged the likes of Amazon and ebay to set foot here finally.
You know Indian ecomm. Sites like flipkart, paytm and snapdeal are far better then eBay and Amazon really, all of them doing business in billions but no body is making profits. Burning millions every quarter.
Same with Amazon, already invested/burn out 2 billion by Amazon in V V short time and recently announced 3 billion more investment.
There target is give huge discount s till other competition burn out
Already snapdeal supported by softbank getting on brink. Flipkart and Paytm supported by alibaba are also feeling heat
They want to operate in monopoly environment, this is there strength.
Soon they will eatout you local companies.
Now do decided what is better?

I think daraz is inventory based,
cant say the same about kamyu though.
Inventory based companies are soon doom to fail.

Very correct . you have better understanding then your counterparts abt ecomm Companies, but friend cash is king and these MNCs are flush with cash and they actually throw it like paper.
Actually these are modern east india companies first do business in loss kill local competition then will rule you, legally for ever.
I know them still hugely got addicted every day I do shopping from these sites even vegetable, grosries. Garments, electronics, all bills from electric, mobile, broadband to gas. Booking taxi or hotel .
Currently they are providing at cheapest prices , best quality, home delivery. Credit card payment no body can escape from them

Reviving this old thread just to inquire if any progress has been reported or made regarding Paypal entering Pakistan market.

I think at this stage we only need Paypal because it would revolutionize our IT market after all we have the world's 3rd largest freelance market. We would have nothing to gain from Amazon and Ebay except reducing our already low forex reserves. We have dozens of local e commerce sites already for local demand

I don't know about others but there has been some progress as far as Amazon is concerned. I have heard from a guy that they have bought some warehouse in Karachi and within next 1 year they might start operations in Pakistan.

I can't confirm credibility of this news but that guy said his firm was involved with the process and knows this first hand. Let's wait and see.

easy pay from easypaisa (Telenor owned tameer bank) is good step in this direction, they have potential and available network to become PayPal of Pakistan, btw State Bank don't support PayPal type foreign services in Pakistan.

Can they deliver bikes and their parts at doorsteps? Or is there any service that can?

Don't know bro. But the guy I am talking about was also involved with setting up warehouse for Daraz.pk so he might be true about amazon too.
