I am a pet owner my self

And I prefer giving em meat leftovers and end trails boild

If read any pet food ingredients it's same thing plus maize flour taken from poultry feed makers

Though it is a good development, my reservation is when one owns a pet then he/she should pay some attention to the pet's needs.
Pets also have feelings, they are attached to their masters and need food, patting, and love. It is not like that the whole day one was busy and the housemaid opens a tin/pouch and serves some food to the pet and all is OK, and one becomes satisfied and proudly tells his/her friends that he/she owns a pet.
Such commercial foods are OK in an emergency when one is really busy, else he/she could prepare a small amount by himself/herself to serve the pet or if they could not then they should not have the pets.
Usually, the behavior is like this. the young generation in the family has a passion for pets and after a few days passion dies and now all the obligations are for 'mama' or 'maid'.
You will hear 'mama main dooston k sath ja raha hoon, please aap ya kareem ko kahain k tiger/tom/sisi/chamo/daisy (whatever the name is) ko khana daal daina'

Just buy some grinded chicken or fish for pet problem solved
No need to import

Thing is simple our investor don't want to take risk when importing them is easier . Their is such a huge market in Pakistan ,why stop at pets also add fodder for livestock aswell , a new company can be establish we just need someone with capital, expertise and ambition.

Livestock fodder is made here but the thing with all these is they still import raw materials for it. My friend have a feed unit for livestock and he says the raw material have to be imported from Malaysia, china and others.
We need import free local products, we need to have complete chain. There have never been any effort or good policy to move this way.

A retired Pak Fauji friend, whom I will not name, had told me many years back that there is a whole lot of economic hit men who will ensure that Pakistan's domestic industry will never develop, but it will remain dependent upon import and importers.

Regards

Chief amongst them is the top military cadre of Pakistan. It's in their Papa John's and Belgium farm house interest to stifle domestic production.

@Asimzranger @SaadH

Not sure if he meant army based institutions. He didn't mention any names or institutions. I understand that these matters are very sensitive and didnt press it. Saw no reason to get a friend unnecessarily into trouble.

Anyway....

Regards

This gentleman deserve praise for initiating something unique in Pakistan

We should change the mentality.
Animals do not know whether they are eating desi or imported food, they can not read the labels...
