Redefining TCG ANADOLU as an Armed Drone Carrier

Wow do they have a naval version of this or its simply compatible with LHD?
This prototype prepared for flight tests. The TB-3 will be ready for take-off and landing from the deck in 2024 and the KE in 2025. In other words, there may be many changes in the KE, not in overall design but in configuration. A compact arresting system will be integrated on the TCG Anadolu deck. The aircraft, which will already have a very low approach speed, will be stopped with the help of a tail hook. On the other hand TB-3 will be a naval STOL aircraft that can stop with its own brakes without the need for any arresting mechanism.

Although the program has not officially started, the highest authorities have confirmed that an aircraft carrier will be built. In other words, these processes can be seen as a phase of accumulating experience.

I am of the opinion that this ship was a mistake. We should have waited a while longer and I think a better solution would be found.

We should have just made an LPD and made a dedicated aircraft carrier with catapults and everything.

Turkey made TCG ANADOLU as a test bed for the future carriers etc. Overall its not a bad project. Turkey will use Istanbul class frigates, Tf2000 destroyers, submarines, SA missile systems to project their power in the oceans. The only lacking aspect is can TSG project great power in the oceans further away from Turkey. Usa, China have a strong navy aviation to defend their carriers but will Turkey be able to command similar power through drones.

If USA carrier is threatened, they will use F35 to retaliate and neutralise any threat (especially aircraft threats) but can the Turkish drones replace F35 in the carriers? And bring out similar power.

Recently Japan expressed it's interests in Kızılelma and TB 2 drones to use them from japanese self defence naval forces LHD
Don't know if Japan would go for it though.

Maybe the Kizilelma would make some sense for their "(totally not a) carrier (believe us please! -Japan, probably)".

The TB drone less so, as they can probably get more advanced drones in the same class from the US.

I don't know, it seems weird for Japan to go for a non-US/UK weapons supplier when that's what they've traditionally done for the JSDF.

I know what it is, we still need a smaller LPD. This is too many eggs in one basket.

I can't imagine using this ship for a contested landing. We would have to be out of our minds.

Reaper uav costs 200 million $ thats more expensive than a F35. And there is no guarantee they will sell it.

Alot of countries have smaller LPDs but China, USA, Thailand, UK and now Turkey have ones over 20,000Ts.

We need something like the former Austin class but with the armament of the San Antonio class. That could work.

That kind of ship we could throw into a bit more risky situations. Whereas we can't risk TCG Anadolu at all, as I said too many eggs in one basket.

DEFENSE CAPABILITY

ISTIF class Frigates and TF-2000 class Destroyers to be armed with 40-150 km HISAR-D and SIPER Block2 SAMs to protect TCG ANADOLU from all threats

2 x TF-2000 = 64 x 2 cells ( 128 cells VLS ) with quadpack capability

-- 128 HISAR-D SAMs
-- 96 SIPER Block2 SAMs

2 x ISTIF class Frigates = 16 x 2 cells ( 32 cells VLS ) with quadpack capability

-- 128 HISAR-D SAMs

also REIS ( Type214TN ) class AIP Submarine will escort TCG ANADOLU

About Air Power

after 2025 KIZILELMA unmanned Fighter Jet to be ready for TCG ANADOLU

KIZILELMA will be armed with air to air missiles
-- 100+ km GOKDOGAN solid BVR
-- and GOKHAN ramjet BVR

Aselsan MURAD AESA Radar
more powerful turbofan Engine
internal weapon bay for stealth flight capability

to retaliate and neutralise any threat (especially aircraft threats) in BVR combat

We need Airborne Surveillance and Control Helicopter for TCG ANADOLU

for example Thales Searchwater radar

Turkish T925 navalized Helicopter will be ready for TCG ANADOLU after 2026
We can develop special radar which is similar to Thales Searchwater radar fow AEW mission
