Look Pakistanis don't have problem paying 1 Dollar for Pepsi (100 rupee)
So they should not have a problem to pay 2 Dollar for Bus Ticket (200 rupee)

Still cheaper vs in USA

(Just imagine the price in Rupee)


Public Don't have problem to spend 10 dollar for their Motor bike fuel cost every day
so if they have to pay just 2 dollar it is actually saving them money not causing them more stunted growth. Every day 3-4 Million people go to gas station and fill up their bikes and each pay 5 dollar to 10 dollar , every one is happy

Take the bus it is cheaper saves you money

In Western World Minimum Bus fare is 2 Dollar !!
So it should be at least 200 Rupees per Trip

Also write down how much subsidy they get on minimum 2 dollars.

Pakistan's minimum wages are higher already. A country like bangladesh growing at about 8% yearly have lower wages than Pakistan.

The problem in Pakistan is the people, that is the blunt truth. No matter how many govts you change, even bring US or Chinese govt, nothing will get solved unless people doesn't change. We really need harsh reforms in the country.

In Bangladesh, every tom dick and Harry want to export. A single province such as Punjab should've been equivalent of Bangladesh as Punjab have more agrigarian land, better infrastructure, British set factories, young population etc etc.

How much Pakistani Pays on his motor bike?

Weekly lets say he goes to work 35 km one way/daily
in 5 working Days covers about 350 Km

Typical bike gives you 60 km in 1 liter


You need about = 5.8 Liters just to go to work and come back
Lets imagine some after hours activities travels so lets round it up to 7 liters


Fuel cost in Pakistan is around 108 rupee per liter

• Total Cost Per week with Motor Bike = 108 x 7 = 756 Rupees paying about 6-7 dollar
• (This here is going out of country daily multiply it with 1-5 million motor bikes )
• Travel time 1.5 hours

New Bus Price : (AIR CONDITION BUS AND NO RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC)

• 10 Rides (10 tickets)= 200 x 10 = 2000 Rupees about 20 dollar
• This 20 dollar multiply with 200,000 riders to 10 million rider

(This stays in Pakistan , goes to Government of Pakistan or Province)

Travel time 30 minutes

To Encourage more bus riders Pakistani Government can still hike up fuel price to
150 Rupee per litre

The price of motor bike has to go over 2000 rupee weekly to force people to start taking bus




People making 35,000 Rupees /month

The fare of the western world you talking about, same west subsidies public transport --- say UK, they spend around 5 billion pounds as subsidy.

30 rupee is still too little too less.. The same journey via private public transport or via ones own motorbike would probably end up coating more.
The fare needs to be increased to 30 rupees for X kilometers (e.g. 5-6kms) maximum and 40 rupees for beyond X kms.
This way the journey still remains subsidized while we save our meager resources to be used elsewhere.

Single Day parking cost is $20 for 1 day parking in core downtown areas if you plan to drive to downtown

There are no subsidies , you work and you pay your bus, car, truck , train expense to get to work

Only Pakistan has this Subsidy culture

Every thing in West is Charged at 100% Full price plus 15-20% Tax
If you can't afford it buy the cheaper brand or buy less


Motor Bikes are a curse on Economy
