What's new

Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s image and Turkey’s economy are both taking a battering

Quran doesn't forbid miniskirts. It only says genitals and chests should be covered for women. Now whether she wears a miniskirt or hijab is her business. Dress doesn't necessarily reflect on one's character. By your logic Osama bin Laden was a better Muslim than Imran Khan because his beard was bigger.
And u have read Quran with explanation? Dont u think u should atleast study or provide proper proof when u claim something abt a book? Or is it a fashion to just utter BS abt a holly book? Highly qualified, western women convert to Islam after studying and start hijab while mr browns here saying they r all wrong and let us be like them.

“And tell the believing women to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts, etc.) and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests and not expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers, their brothers' sons, their sisters' sons, their women, that which their right hands possess, or those male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed.”-(Quran 24:31)

There is another hadith that even mentions covering your ears and what not. So I leave it here.

Turkey is very conservative if you venture outside the main cities like Istanbul. Erdogan political base is that conservative base.
AKP is also secular, there is nothing religious about it, Erdogan gets criticized for his atheist rule!

AKP is true secular. The others are secular in name only. Being Europeanized or non-religious is not secular. Erdogan party has allowed religious minded people to be in mainstream. Secular Turks did not allow women with headscarves in universities or in workforce. Thats not secularism.
