afterwards he said Bengali people were united in a way by Tagore and company around 1905 and 1911. i don't care how Tagore and company prospered in colonial period, and how Bengali Muslims and their heritage and socioeconomic position went down the gutter. but Tagore and company became the very symbols post-1947 to suppress Bengali Muslim heritage using a boogeyman called "suppression from Punjab ruling elite". i took some exception to his pro-Tagore remarks and no opposition to the Indian remaking of East Pakistan into Bangladesh.
btw i'm very open to ideas that 1947 Partition should not have been done, especially the way it was done.
but i'm not open to the idea that Muslim Bengal was less independent before 1971
