Read the article again, Proposal is from Chinese Diplomat and it is deliberated in informal session.He is just trying to soften India opposition to BRI.
Pakistan can have its CPEC , we Indians are not dying to be part of it.

Every country has right to develop , we have not yet opposed Chinese going into Nepal.

Chinese maybe bigger or better or powerful , that doesn't mean we cant safeguard our Interest.

. . .
Heh.

With nothing in mind, may I bring the beneficial effects of Eno's Fruit Salts to the notice of members?

Hmm well as amazing as ENO is. I would frankly doubt the head lines ad sensationalism that is being presented.

In the last week

Pakistan is trying to get DB dam in CPEC so Pakistan is becoming a colony.

Pakistan said NO to china's demands so the relationship and project has fallen apart.

China is bending to our pressure and is leaving GB and azad Kashmir.

Quite frankly asinine is how Indian media has been covering CPEC SBD its interest in pak-china dealing has been far more than some serious domestic issues.

OK. Let's get to Tue thread.

The CPEC is based on two corridor named western corridor crossing Baluchistan and kpk and gilgit baltistan connecting to kashgar xingiang and the eastern corridor which goes through Baluchistan to east in sindh then to Punjab and then connecting with the western point in gilgit baltistan and then to kashgar Xinjiang.

Apart from these road and rail networks, we have the spread projects which are energy, economic zones and developmental infrastructure.

Both regions of azad Kashmir and FATA do not fall within the "direct road network part" and are focused more in Economic zones and critical infrastructure along with creations of road to link FATA with western corridor and azad Kashmir with eastern corridor.

The thing is the change requiring the exclusion of gilgit baltistan is basically impossible. Not only would china have to pull out of several ongoing projects in that region but would have to change the very aspect of CPEC which would make it subservient to India rather than a direct trade with pakistan and china. Bcz the route to satisfy Indian objection would basically have eastern and western corridor connecting in lahore and going through lahore into India and then to china through its pathway.

I think what the diplomat meant ( if he even stated that) was to connect the Indian administered Kashmir with the CPEC by creating a new corridor crossing through azad Kashmir into IAK and then reaching eastern china for trade.

This would not be a bad call Joe as it would connect the regions more, increase trade with Pakistan and bind the three nations together and plus the eastern china would cut through India to connect to gawader as well as connect with gawadet through xingiang which would see the region of Xinjiang develop and pakistan and India and china would benefit with a three way trade through a corridor connecting their most developed regions.

However this won't happen.

And since it won't happen there is little point in discussing it so let us once more talk about the amazing effects of ENO fruit salts.

If China Re-routes the corridor through India and Nepal...India might change its stance!

Bad idea. Chinese products are already flooding the market. Now you want a land route for that? The main purpose of the route is to have a route that can surpass Malacca straight, where Indian navy is present and close to Indian territory. Even though the route is close to the border.

The Chinese are just playing tricks for some momentary gains. No need to take this to face value. Chinese are already building routes to Nepal. We can simply use that route for trade. We don't need a sugar coated name.

No it isn't...
We can export through the same land route!

I didn't say we can't export. We are already exporting to China through land route.

There is also, BD - Myanmar - India - Bhutan quadrilateral route that's being proposed.

Instead of us all pulling together to make sure that we all prosper, we are behaving like utter retards, pulling each other down. There's room for more than one route; if our leadership in India had been anything other than recidivist morons, they'd be jumping up and down in Beijing, trying to get Xi's attention.

Consider the ways (first read the post below yours).
  1. Through Lhasa and Xigatse (we used to call it Shigatse - ah, well) down the Tribhuvan Highway, and we can offer
    1. Surat, through Kanpur and Indore;
    2. Mumbai, through Kanpur and Indore;
    3. Kakinada, through Dhanbad and Bhubaneswar;
    4. Machilipatnam, through Dhanbad and Bhubaneswar;
    5. Vizag (if the IN allows it, that is), through Dhanbad and Bhubaneswar;
    6. Paradip, through Dhanbad and Bhubaneswar;
    7. Haldia, through Dhanbad;
  2. From Chengdu, through Bhamo and Myitkyina (the old Ledo Road)
    1. Chittagong, through the Brahmaputra Valley, via Tripura and Sylhet;
    2. Khulna, through the Brahmaputra Valley, via Tripura and Sylhet;
    3. Kolkata, through the Brahmaputra Valley, via Tripura and Sylhet, through Bangladesh;
The first option, and its seven sub-options, are already developed. No extra money, no investment, no nothing, just commercial and trade agreements and safety on the highways - HUGE investments by the state governments in safety on the highways.

The second option will absorb infrastructural investment precisely where south Asia most needs it.

And that will put paid to belligerent noises by all parties; nobody will want to risk killing the geese that lay such golden eggs.

Source... "The Hindu"... I.e fake news.

What is WRONG with you, dear Sir? That is the soundest paper in India. They double-check all their reports, and are usually the last in print, because they take such pains to make sure.

Alternate route will kill the purpose of by passing malaka straits

Hmm sensible but sensible isn't found in south Asia. Quite frankly I would support entangling India, pakistan and china in multiple trade routes with each other to bring them closer and intertwine them through economic dependency however we too have failed in this regard. No matter what the fact is that we cannot tap into a market of 1.2 billion bcz of our issues which creates massive opportunity costs. I would frankly say that pakistan border largely with nearly half the world on two points would make us one of the too trade route country in the world with largest trade volumes especially considering our own position.

I would support the spread of CPEC and its evolution to I corporate more countries especially India but it's not going to happen.

Well eventually pakistan, India and china will one realize that nobody is going anywhere and we have to stay with each other forever and for that we will have to work together. Its going to take alot of time.
