RCS OF Different Fighters

Just eyeballing the airframe... as others have said, I would place it in the F-16 class, which is not bad at all. The F-16 has one of the lower RCS of traditional fighters.

Again, hang stuff under the wings, and the RCS skyrockets on any aircraft.

Most probably. Even I think so. But btw.. Considering the sheer size of the MKI radar even if you assume a 15 sqm RCS (yes 15) it'd still detect both JF17 and F16 before they detect it. Not to mention this radar is gonna be upgraded next year. Probably.

To detect means using flashlight in the dark. The RWR are passively doing exact the same. Why do these planes have ECM and what will be the value of detecting? I bet the rcs with normal ordnance is a lot higher then 15.

This is highly debatable as you are claiming something which is far from reality. JFT radar has publicized detection range of 105 km against 5m2 target and Su-30 even if, has RCS of 10m2, will be detected at around 200-210 kms!! I bet BARS cannot detect a 3m2 target even at 150 kms and JFT is much less than 3m2 so MKI will have a hard time detecting the JFT at advertised range. Reality is, it will most likely be the other way around.

Thanks for the above Tempest, this is interesting indeed and in plain (non ECM) confrontation, JFT will have an upper hand at least on paper.
