The Mumbai operation was a success for RAW in more ways than one.

It is difficult to shape public opinion and many superpowers and regional powers around the world stage false-flag operations, creating a boogeyman they need the public to hate. The US has done numerous false-flag operations, even cursory research into 9/11 shows that this was one. Hijacked jets roaming off course for hours and no jet is scrambled to intercept, when even in 3rd world countries like Pakistan and India jets are scrambled as soon as this happens. Israel has also done many false-flags, some have publically blown up in their face. Like their attacking and trying to sink USS Liberty(US Navy Ship) with tacit US approval, pretending to be Egyptians. The ship proved sturdier and wouldn't sink even after the closest US Navy ships did not come to it's aid and fight off the Israelis.

Mumbai was also clearly a false-flag operation. Loss of innocent life is a tragedy anywhere and everywhere. I am surprised at how Indians explicitly trust their government despite many many cases of corruption and malice - the people in power clearly don't mind manipulating and lying to the masses, and yet the masses keep loving them for it. At Mumbai around half a dozen terrorists were "holding on" to a three-hundred room hotel building. It is logistically impossible for that many men to even keep track of three hundred rooms the govt could have broken in discretely and overpowered them within a few hours. But the government can't get in the building for almost a week, it seems completely ridiculous.

The RAW is an asset paid for the Indian people and it should work to protect the lives of Indians, not to lie to them and waste lives where they want to. I hope the truth about Mumbai would become known to the public in India someday and the real killers will face the consequences. In the mean while, my sympathies to those people unable to see this and refusing to research and form their opinions on their own, rather than have their opinions formed by the media. Your ignorance is harming India's interests.

RAW was created in September 1968. It brought successes with in next three years and after that 10 years it worked extremely well. But in the 80s and 90s its works have been reduced. I think in last 10 years RAW revived to its earlier form, now more tech savvy.


But we are yet to see any major breakthrough from RAW for decades like in the 70s.

the threat perception has changed a lot. it would be very difficult to achieve the success of 70s now.

it was in our strategic interests to help break up of pakistan. now we dont want break up of pakistan. can u imagine if pakistan breaks up then there will be 4-5 nuclear amred states in our neighbourhood. it will be a scary situation.

today the threat is from terrorism. in terrorism the successes are rarely highlighted and only failures come in front of whole country.

so RAW cannot replicate its success because the scenario has changed.
