What's new

Ranvir Sena rulers of Bihar

I just don't get it though. A lot of the people chest thump here about Bhumihar and Rajput, and when I watch documentaries and stuff, Dalits don't look all that different.

Do your extended family still believe Dalits cannot become doctors, scientists etc

I agree, bhaiyas do typically look the same.

Two words - Bloody casteists. :bad:

@Ravi Nair

I don't really condone what Ranvir Sena type groups does, but the "fight" isn't exactly casteist. Not every Bhumihar is landed and well off, I personally know Bhumihars in my village in UP who own not even 5 Bighas of land. They are just standing their ground and defending their family and property.

Just cause someone is from the high caste doesn't give Maoist scums the right to kill them and capture their property. Because Bhumihars are farmers, no one gave a toss about them, no one came to protect them. Imagine if the Maoists started doing the same thing to industrialists and people who have property in urban areas. They come and kill your kith and kins and capture your investment properties and plant red flags in multi storey towers , then you ll see the outrage from the people and the call to retaliate.

Everyone has the right to defend their lives, of their families and defend their property.

depends where you go as well. In urban centres, inter-religious, inter-caste marriages are becoming common, because a lot of them work as colleagues and stuff.

But, it seems like the rural areas are stuck in 19th century and has been held in stasis.

That is why I am in favour of increased urbanisation, industrialisation and economic growth. It has shifted the attitudes especially in the last decades.
I am from the farmer class (SC, althoh my family never faced untouchability).
I am marrying a girl who is an output of Talukdar father (bhumihars of assam, but not inhuman as their bihari counterparts) and chakraborty brahmin mother.....
interestingly, this match up is arranged and not filmy
my dad n her dad were college buddies....
point is just as @Ravi Nair said.....education, non segregation of schools and most of all the responsibility of our present generation to impart the right idea to the next generation.
Casteism and reservation can be wiped out in a single generation shift.

Why do North East Indians hate us?

I thought this militia had long ceased to exist. They were brutal sociopaths

I don't care much for the image, not on a forum, that's why I said that let the thread remain/exist even IF it leads to generalizations, IN FACT I think if a few of my compatriots feel affronted by it, a bit ashamed and view it as a blot on our nation, or at least are made to feel so it would just be appropriate bitter medicine. I requested a block on further posts so that vitriol would not be spewed any further.

My reaction is born out of, as you right summarized, it being a more personal issue. I mean years of hearing the same chauvinistic drivel and attempts to drill it into my head as well.

So you did not embrace the dark side of the force

The fall in the size of land holding was not due to maoist taking away the lands, but further divisions of land due to growth in the family sizes diluting the land holding per family. I agree Bumihars have a right to defend their families and properties, especially given that the writ of state was absent in those areas for a long time.

@Oscar @Aeronaut @Chak Bamu @Fulcrum15 Thread needs to go, if people want the OP on display to present the darkest side of discrimination or even to use as ammo against India so be it, but lock the thread down and deal with the poster.
He's banned but this thread needs to be deleted.

So many idiots in this world! Jeez! I think we need divine intervention sooner than later to purge this crap.

My bad I should have been clearer. I was just trying to point out how little land Bhumihars and Rajputs of Bihar now have.
