Rankings: Top 25 global cities of 2011

[Nomenclature]

On a daily basis I see 25 such list,each every time positioning each and every city and country at different places.so nothing big aboyt it.

But what surprised me in this list r cities like Rio,Delhi ranked even below Cairo.

Also the economic activity ranking in which China have two cities equivalent to that of US,even though US economy is more than double.

Also I donot consider LA below than that of Beijing and Shanghai in economic activity,the GDP of LA is even double than combined of Beijing and shanghai.

It's not a ranking on GDP along. Beijing/Shanghai has a lot of things LA does not. For example 30 of the Fortune Global 500 companies are headquartered in Beijing, the number for LA is 3.

Paris I have been to,really a nice city even atmosphere there is romantic.

I think after top 25 cities the rest are randomly ranked .
Tel Aviv is shown better than Mumbai and Delhi

Tel Aviv is definitely a better city than Delhi and Mumbai. There is no comparison.

Where are München, Barcelona, Sydney, Amsterdam, Milano, Vienna? Even SF is way better.

GDP for LA is pushed up by housing price bubble and hollywood. Take away the housing and hollywood, and LA is sh*t.

Congrats to both China and India well India for at least getting up there. A lot has improved in the Asian region

This last list here, the "Knowledge and influence" one, is a bit weird. Why is HK the only Chinese city ranked?

This particular ranking seems to be based on available media sources or something like that.

I think its wqeird too,IMO,i think beijing should be place on this list.

The knowledge and influence ranking doesn't make much sense to me either. For example there's no way Sydney could rank above Beijing with its lesser universities and less influential media. Maybe the researchers got drunk and thought News Corps is headquartered in Sydney?

eastern have different ideas of Quality of Life from westerns.in my opinion,i love my hometown hangzhou rather than paris.a major of East Asians tends to city with hills and waters ,but eastern tends to a city with romance and passion.

For those morons who do not know, India is a current member of United Nation SECURITY Council.

Talking down India would not make any third world country into a Developed country, and my friend China, India and Pakistan are all third world.

Once you reach about $25K per capita income, may be you can start bragging.
