Rangers seek to replace head of CPLC

Karachi: Reports are surfacing that the power of Citizens-Police Liaison
Committee (CPLC) is being handed over to Karachi Rangers; according
to the sources, the process of power shifting is going on obscurely.

PPP-led Sindh government will support the process to shift complete
authorities of CPLC to Rangers (Karachi). Sources added more that the
CPLC chief, Ahmed Chinoy is likely to be dismissed from his portfolio
and Rangers authorities will take over CPLC.

Internal sources have revealed that Ahmed Chinoy is being threatened
by unknown persons and all of his movements are being tracked by
agencies. The major cause of Chinoy’s dismissal will be his pro-MQM
stance.

CPLC is not a bureaucratic influenced organisation like rangers or police, its an independent organisation who selects all its chiefs on merits, they don't get appointments

CPLC is the only organisation in the police who actually performs and produce results and is very interactive with the community

CPLC recently solved many kidnapping for ransom problems

just discarding him for his political stance and not on merits and esp rangers taking over this organisation raises suspicion
