Rail cargo looters pilfering international packages in LA. US

Spot on!! I couldn't have put it better way!
You maybe surprised that almost till the Nov. 2020 elections, I was a blind and diehard Democrats--and for decades.

The Liberals in my state say there is a shortage of low income housing in the state due to some of the wealthier suburbs having restrictive single family zoning laws. They propose we subdivide our lots so more low income housing can be built. This way the disadvantaged can both have homes and go to some of the nicer schools in these communities.

Of course what they don't propose is to simply buy back all the dilapidated housing/lots that are in some of the less desirable areas, put up nice beautiful new units, build some nice new schools, and hire some really good teachers to get the people to actually want to live there. Apparently they somehow think good public schools are tied to being in a magical geographic location where education simply flows easier into people's heads..and this isn't replicable elsewhere . As usual it is far easier to just throw a problem at the towns which have been successful rather than to actually fix the problem in towns that weren't. :rolleyes1:

You do seem to know a lot about the real estate matters! I guess I have been shielded from all the housing dramas due to my location.

Related to this and coming from no less than NY Times!!

A shortage of affordable housing in California eh?

Yes, there is a shortage of housing in Palo Alto..because it is a very desirable place...but lets look at areas in towns next door one inch beyond the town line with housing that isn't as desirable.

Palo Alto
Estimated median household income in 2019: $160,360 (it was $90,377 in 2000)
Palo Alto: 175.6

Lets look at a town next door...
East Palo Alto
Estimated median household income in 2019: $75,762 (it was $45,006 in 2000)

East Palo Alto: 259.6 (Note: Higher means more crime)

Instead of asking the Palo Alto people to bend how about trying to make East Palo Alto more desirable. I remember this:

The following just sums up everything that is wrong with them..UNREAL..you think they would have done this if there was no Super Bowl...the answer is NOPE NOPE NOPE

I'd love to be a reporter and interview Mayor Garcetti just to call him a slimey Liberal sh*t. Only doing a cleanup to avoid a nationwide PR problem during the Super Bowl. You are just a @#$&!% clown.

Recently I read somewhere online: 'The number one job of a politician is to gain power. The number two job is to hold on to the power'. Both Democrats and Republicans are power hungry. In case of Democrats, the path to power is through giving freebies to everyone and enhancing their vote bank through even illegal immigration.
In case of America, the power hunger has gotten so much out of hand that even the ultimate arbitrator of 'justice', the Supreme Court of America, is so blatantly politicized. After Justice Breyer's forced retirement (by Dems), I asked two of my American friends about what's happening. One is a staunch Liberal. One is a conservative and a missionary Christian. Their responses were poles apart. Both highly intelligent, college graduates folks. But their responses showed how divided America has become.
