I don't think this is a good example of police brutality on blacks (yes, violence was applied). The man engaged in criminal activity and was endangering the lives of a pregnant woman (2 lives) at gunpoint . The cop made a reasonable decision given the circumstance, it would be unfair to blame him for his actions in this situation. Now society has to foot the criminal's medical bill, court costs, and detention costs. I guess America is rich enough to afford that.

Sympathising with these criminals for a political cause only erodes the credibility of that cause and makes it sound insane. Do you really expect sane people to support this man's actions? I get it if its an innocent person. Are you saying he should be given pardon for his action because he is black? That sounds unfair and supports an unhealthy mentality for all groups.

If I may add, the police should have finished the job. It will save all groups trouble in the future, including innocent black people.

Frankly I know US police can be heavy handed

They are, and it's for a reason. It only takes a split second for a perp to pull his gun out and blast a cop away, depriving his children of their father, his wife her husband, his family a son and a brother, and society a person willing to take up the risk to make everyone feel safe doing the simplist things like walking to the grocery store to get a loaf of bread.

This is why cops in America are always on edge. When they give you a order, particularly in situations where a weapon is suspected, best thing to do is follow the damn order and not be a smart@ss and pull off something stupid.

I have friend already in the NYPD and two more joining it now. Ask any American cop what are the two things a cop fears most: 1) Traffic stops 2) Domestic incidents

I don't know about this particular incident, but it is a fact that America is a pretty racist place to be.

There is nothing to argue when the sitting president of the USA hates immigrants, Muslims and every person of color. Additionally, the US has a crazy history of slavery and mass murdering black African Americans. Whether some black African Americans are involved in certain crimes doesn't negate the fact that white cops in the US are racist. We have to call a spade a spade here.

The world isn't crazy when it criticizes US gun violence and cop attitude. The US is extreme in almost every way imaginable. There is no doubt that a significant portion of the cops in the US are racist. They are closet KKK supporters. They love to abuse their power. They are corrupt. Nothing wrong in pointing this out.

Who can blame him for making that assertion? The US has a history and a terrible track record of cop violence in general. Americans are trigger happy folks. The US has a Wild Wild West gun culture. The gun is more sacred than anything else.

The white American population has a troublesome relationship with the black African Americans it imported into its lands. This is no secret. Judging the US history of slavery and racism it isn't far-fetched to believe that many crimes against people of color are committed in the name of prejudice.
