First of all the premise itself is incorrect. You can not compare with India in an attempt to shy away. India as you have already emphasized enough - A poor and developing country (some members even have doubts in this regard).

Is anyone claiming that India is safer than Australia - Hell no. But what you dont realise is - This argument goes against your POV. It is being claimed that the incidents against Indians are urban crimes only, but since you have a lower crime rate and a lower population - this happening to Indians in Australia should be even more rare and alarming.

Specially alarming is how Indians are more prone to these crimes than any other community. India would be termed racist if instances of crime against foreigners was higher than that on natives - it ain't so... Keep Diggin.

That makes 4 persons already, need we go further. Oh, and by the way. Mr Staines and his wife served as missionaries, serving lepers for 34 years in India.

Stains was killed and murderer prosecuted. Even if you allege cover up attempts, it only shows there are checks and balances to counter that. Sleeping pills was for Osborne.

Whatever happens in India - if you comparing to that, then first you'll need to admit that Australia is not a developed country. How would Australia feel if Stains was termed as being at the wrong place at the wrong time. He was in impoverished and crime prone terretory. A tribal and Jungle area, he should not have gone there and he became a soft target for the extremists, by sleeping in his car.

But we are not saying that - Noone is. All we ask you to do is, atleast investigate the racial angle as there are sufficient data portraying a trend of attacks being focussed at Indians in Particular. If nothing come out - Fine, but unless you investigate, nothing will come out. Lets have a week in review shall we:

Indian Taxi Driver racially abused and physically harmed, still the police maintains it was not racial.
Another indian Taxi Driver abused and attacked. No Racial intent.
under construction Gurudwara set on fire: No racial or religious intent, those were some camp fire. Even Australian Police tried to cover this one up.
Indian Assaulted and set on Fire: He was in it for Insurance money some claim. No Racial verdict given right at beginning of the investigations.

Repeatedly it is said - Indians are soft targets and are at the wrong place at the wrong time. It has become sickening. All we are asking Australian authorities is to investigate the racial angle - That is all.

Australian response is comparison to Indian crime rates. How innovative, you just discovered there are more crimes in India - Helloo we are not screaming at top of our lungs that we are a first world developed nations with zero corruption nor we are claiming that there are zero hate crimes in India. So shut that trap to discuss things in proper light.

I am not saying they are all racist, i am just saying Investigate and then say its not racist. Anyways, 36% of Australians do believe that these attacks are with racial motivation.

Bullcrap! All Skeptic is saying is investigate the racial angle as indians are getting more than their share of crime or explain the higher share of crime. Thats a just demand. If the police have not captured the real killers, then ruling out any possibility is tampering with the investigation.
