No comment to that. If you're talking about regional films then Iran wins hands down. Hollywood, Spanish films, Iranians films, Korean films, Israeli films, Turkish films and Chinese films are all excellent

Nowadays Bollywood is really evolving with the rise of new age directors like Anurag Kashyap and Vishal Bhardwaj.

Films like Gangs of Wasseypur, Makdi, Rockstar, No one killed Jessica, 7 Khoon Maaf, Delhi Belly, Dirty Picture, Luck By Chance testify the fact.

...and then there are total masala films like Jism(2) and Kya Supercool Hain Hum, Singham, Bodyguard, Don 2 etc.

Bollywood of today has something for everyone. That's what a fully developed film industry should be all about after all.

When it comes to offering the viewers all kinds of films (masala, meaningful, satire, comedy, political, realistic etc.) of a pretty decent quality, Bollywood is second only to Hollywood.

I can't see any industry apart from Hollywood catering to such a vast range of audiences from South America to Afghanistan and Thailand and offer such a wide range of some pretty good films.

You could say so. But Indians like this for many reasons....which is a long list. But seriously mate, I don't even watch their trailer. I better watch The Flowers of War (Chinese), The Elite Squad (Brazilian), any korean movie rather than watching this crap. Only few of Bollywood movies are worth watching and those movies are pretty good and comparable to west (like Kahaani of Vidya Balan, its good). Also some movies are just pure idiotic which you can watch if you are tired and you don't want to use your mind for 3 hrs.

in my opinion the best Indian films are the ones that show the culture, history, and traditions of India. Hera Pheri, Ashoka, Chandi bar were good movies
