Depends. I have seen a Superhornet parked in Bahrain for almost 4 years, it was a US Navy jet that crash landed followed by the pilot ejecting, happened at Bahrain International Airport. The extent of the damage is very much variable to having the aircraft repaired in time for regular ops.

Yes but the question is why did the pilots ejected when the aircraft was merely Taxying.
As can be seen the jet just came to a halt .

It is not a software based ejection seat. We were briefed that in Vipers, if the jet goes off the runway or taxiway, egress immediately...that includes ejections. We've seen cases where the nosewheel compresses into the front cockpit. No risks should be taken.

Probably a bird strike or a maintenance issue with the engines. Either way, better to eject on the ground then have the plane crash after going airborne. They will probably be able to send it to Boeing to get it refurbished.

Aircraft suffered an engine loss, could've been an uncontained. Aircraft is full of fuel, pilots have no way of verifying if it isn't uncontained. Safer thing would be to eject.

Except the PAF Viper met the accident while baring down the runway at high speed for it's take off run.
