"Qurbani ka bakra" can solve energy woes

Each year hundred thousands of animals are scarified in annual Islamic fest. They also generate thousands of tons of organic waste mainly the intestines or as locally called "ojri".

Ojri is a matter of great disgust and is disposed off immediately to local kachra kundi or jamadar. These intensitial waste also contain a valuable anaerobic bacteria which in absence of oxygen causes digestion of this waste to produce bio-gas mainly methane (CH4) and Carbon dioxiode (Co2) by composition. Due to primitive and improper disposal methods used, this methane with global warming potential 56 times more than CO2 is released into atmosphere.

However with relatively simple technologies and processing facilities built using locally available expertise it is possible to harness this methane for viable electricity or heat production. Moreover, the anaerobic bacteria will happy chug on most type of biological materials which makes it possible to introduce other organic waste like agriculture waste, rotten veges and fruits and even dead fish into the mix for digestion and production of bio-gas.

You dont need any so called "expertise" the nature does the work itself..all you need is some land and building an underground storage tank with mechanical mixer...fill it up..add some checmical catalyst and seal the tank for one year..and the bacteria will set in to work..as the bacteria reproduces the reaction gets faster and faster..you can build it at the backyard of your house and grow grass over it.

The left over product is high value organic fertilizer.

And collaboration with India if needed should be much welcome. This is not defense tech, just some ogri recycling for electricity.

Anaerobic decomposition is a two-stage process as specific bacteria feed on certain organic materials. In the first stage, acidic bacteria dismantle the complex organic molecules into peptides, glycerol, alcohol and the simpler sugars. When these compounds have been produced in sufficient quantities, a second type of bacteria starts to convert these simpler compounds into methane. These methane producing bacteria are particularly influenced by the ambient conditions, which can slow or halt the process completely if they do not lie within a fairly narrow band.

The intention here to utilize animal intestines available in large quantities due to religious fest for speeding up the bio-degradation reaction. Otherwise, the reaction based on natural growth of bacteria will proceed very slow.

People for the love of god this confusion must end. Ojri is not intestine, but stomach of the cow and is an extremely different type of meat and I personally like it. I think its not very healthy, with regards to high cholesterol content but its completely clean.

Ojri is actually the best part in Goat's meat like the leg piece in Chicken

And it's not Moghlai food ..
Its used in Konkani food (Maharashtrian food)

I think the problem is not about the alternative methods of Electricity. The problem is funds, resources, investment, skills, time etc. Warna agar dam hi bana diye jayen to masla hal ho jaye... agar coal, wind ya solar per hi kaam ho jaye to masla hal ho jaye, agar sugar factories Sugarcane se ya recycling walay "waste" ko utilize kar lain to bijli ban jaye... usi tara shayad first post wala idea bhi usage main laaya jaye to masla hal ho jaye ga.
