Read Quran, understand it, and act upon it. That's the purpose of revelation of Quran.
It wasn't meant to be "kissed" & wrapped in a "velvety fabric" & placed on a HIGH shelf where hardly anyone would remember to pick it up & give some heed. Buring of Quran does NOT diminish it's value nor does it hurt it's purpose & meaning, even by a single bit.
So focus on "
the message" rather than the "
hard copies".
We Muslims should STOP being so
"Touch-Me-Not"s..... Islam is ABOVE that.
Caliph Usman himself burnt MANY copies of Quran (
see end of post). Did that hurt feelings of Muslims?
In Lahore Canal, people dump their copies of Quran & they are discovered
in THOUSANDS during desilting when water is drained.
Sewerage water is dumped in same canal too.Does that hurt "
چهوٸ موٸ" Muslims??!!
Or is it an insult ONLY if a non-muslim does it, but if a muslim dumps copies of Quran it's okay?!?
In country where two most sacred places of Muslims are, Saudia, Quran were found in sewrage Gutter.!! Did that hurt feelings of "
چهوٸ موٸ" Muslims?!!!!! (

...So `Uthman sent a message to Hafsa saying, "Send us the manuscripts of the Qur'an so that we may compile the Qur'anic materials in perfect copies and return the manuscripts to you." Hafsa sent it to `Uthman. `Uthman then ordered Zaid bin Thabit, `Abdullah bin AzZubair, Sa`id bin Al-As and `AbdurRahman bin Harith bin Hisham to rewrite the manuscripts in perfect copies. `Uthman said to the three Quraishi men, "In case you disagree with Zaid bin Thabit on any point in the Qur'an, then write it in the dialect of Quraish, the Qur'an was revealed in their tongue." They did so, and when they had written many copies, `Uthman returned the original manuscripts to Hafsa. `Uthman sent to every Muslim province one copy of what they had copied, and ordered that all the other Qur'anic materials, whether written in fragmentary manuscripts or whole copies, be burnt."
