This article is wishful French thinking at best. The Saudia's will expand their Eurofighter fleet and when the Tempest is online - they will buy into that programme.

Nonsense. Why would KSA waste money on the Rafale?

They need a 5 generation fighter jet or 6 generation fighter jet. Nothing else should do it for a country the size of KSA, its economic size, economic growth, potential and challenges.

TEMPEST should be the best solution if going for a Western option, otherwise go with whatever China develops.

Indeed. KSA is not tiny Qatar. They will go for something better. In particular something that will improve the thriving domestic Saudi Arabian defence industry.

In this case, I could only see the usefulness of Rafale if it was produced domestically in KSA and an almost full ToT transfer. Like large parts of the F-15 are produced in KSA by Saudi Arabian hands.
