Yes Pakistan Army is doing a great job. But that's on soldier level ,
But when ever some thing like this happens you will see statment from Pakistani top bross that they will do this and they will beef up security for while or maybe close border for few days

If Pakistan really wanted there were better options than simply invading Afghanistan as others want
Simple option is make a buffer zone because what the point of having army when you wont protect your nationals
Simplest way to kill a insurgency is to cut off its funding go after who sponsors it but no nothing happening on that front
And one other point not going fully against all these activities because that gives Pakistani army excuse to stay active in politics and have a hold
