Questions for Obama, on his visit to Pakistan

Again why would this concern you, and also why so much pleasure, does your ego, need Obama to slight Pakistan, so that you can feel good about yourself.

The US is providing billions of dollars worth of weapons that are indian specific, why did not india bring that up, when he was their.

Huh? I insulted Bush, not Pakistan. If you really want to know why neither Clinton nor Bush stayed for very long in Pakistan is because of security reasons. That's why the interaction with people will be kept to a minimum. When did I insinuate that Obama would slight Pakistan?

Exactly Jana, you hit the nail on the head, indians seem to have a complex, when the big boss, smiles at them, it makes their day.

US is a very shrewd operator, it always does things in it's national interest - that is why on the one hand, it wants friendship with india, and on the other hand, it is friendly with us, and provides many weapons that are indian specific.

F16 block 52 + Amraams, to shoot down ttp fighters, MPA to destroy ttp submarines. etc etc and so forth. The US is playing a game according to it's national interest.

you are right. But honestly interaction with people by high profile persons from US has nothing which could add respect to the locals.

In this cynical world of international politics, it is all about self interest baby, our establishment is milking them for national interest, and they are doing the same. It is called Realpolitik my friends.

I know. But the problem with such interactions is that for a very large amount of time the security of the President of the US is the responsibility of the host nation. Even the Mumbai police and Obama's security almost came to blows when Xaviers College interaction was to take place with Indian students. Obama's men insisted that the sharpshooter should be American and the Indians had allowed only Americans in the inner ring to carry weapons. Indians forced the American sharpshooter down. Anyhow, the point is that given the rather unsuitable security climate - Obama will not interact directly with Pakistanis. But there is always video conferencing.

But i am saying that his interaction with public is not important at all.

Let's formulate a list of questions, which students shall be asking to Mr. Obama.

I say best starting point will be the recent statements of P.Musharraf.

1- Why US is allowing India to use Afghanistan to destabilize Pakistan?

2- Why India is allowed to violate international water treaties by building dams. which first created drought followed by floods?

3- Why TTP was not a terrorist organisation in US eyes for long time?

4- Why US is quite on state terrorism against Kashmiri kids, women and civilians?

5- Why free transit aid to US has turned into an open channel to smuggle Indian produce to Pakistan?

6- Why transit pass shall be free and unaccountable?

7- Why US diplomats question Chinese support to Pakistan?

8- Why killing of Pakistan soldiers and what happened to the responsible?

9- Why does US diplomats keep blaming Pakistan for every thing over media, e.g. KL bill?

10- Where in Pakistan is OBL?

I can write more but let's listen some other ideas first.

I should have been more lucid. My bad. In some earlier thread I had even stated that it would be better if Obama did not visit Pakistan because he is not going to say things Pakistan wants to hear - so you might as well not invite him - why allow in a guest who is going to insult you? It is your country at the end of the day. I can even understand the Chinese Premier being welcomed with open arms in Pakistan because you will actually benefit from certain economic packages the Chinese bring along as well as military and infrastructure packages. Obama will bear no such gifts except that he will only ask you to do more in WoT while thanking you for your efforts.

Because it's part of US policy - Pakistan must be made to realign itself and work against China.


2- Why India is allowed to violate international water treaties by building dams. which first created drought followed by floods?

US does not allow such, it does not disallow it either - India is a sovereign country and US does not micro-manage the water policy of India.


3- Why TTP was not a terrorist organisation in US eyes for long time?

US targets terrorists and Baitullah Massoud was one such target.

4- Why US is quite on state terrorism against Kashmiri kids, women and civilians?

Because to speak up on their behalf will be very unpopular at home and very very unpopular with our strategic ally. We therefore have no problem in making distinctions among terrorists.


5- Why free transit aid to US has turned into an open channel to smuggle Indian produce to Pakistan?

Because it is our policy that Pakistan must play the role of supporting and furthering Indian interests as a way to counter the rise of China.

6- Why transit pass shall be free and unaccountable?

Because it furthers the interests of India and helps establish groups in Afghanistan we favor - and lets be honest, Pakistani politicians and bureaucrats allowed it.

7- Why US diplomats question Chinese support to Pakistan?

Our policy is to slow and reverse the rise of China and Pakistan have not been forthcoming in this regard. The Pakistani armed forces with their traditional pro-Western outlook, seem to now be questioning this pro-Western outlook and this we will not tolerate.

8- Why killing of Pakistan soldiers and what happened to the responsible?

We hope to target "terrorists" and did not mean to target Pakistani soldiers

9- Why does US diplomats keep blaming Pakistan for every thing over media, e.g. KL bill?

Deceit, Deception and Duplicity is what our policy towards Pakistan consists of - we are alternately friends and Enemies toward Pakistan, till such time as Pakistan surrenders all interests in Afghanistan and agrees unconditionally to work against China and for India.

10- Where in Pakistan is OBL?

He's in a mythical place called the Pak-Afghan border, a border which our Afghan satrap does not recognize, so you Pakistanis better fall in line or we will create more Osamas for you.
