Question about Aircrafts coming to PAF

as for Mirages i read somewhere that DASSAULT asked india to pay 30 million dollars per fighter for upgrade.... i don't think SORRY MASTAN SIR( i know you are a die hard Mirage man)...but i really don't think UAE will just hand out the fighter....and paying a huge price for the fighters is soething that we can't do....unfortunately our leaders have been corrupted to a point where they are leeches!

That Tussle b/w Dassault & India cannot affect our purchase of UAE M2K
The Price will be somewhere less than or equal 20 million per piece, I don't think price is a big problem
& Rafales will Replace the existing UAE M2K..

its nothing to do with india it is the fact that the plane is just to darn expensive! and unless we go rob the FEDERAL RESERVE BANK OF USA we don't have the fund to purchase a squadron of such high end fighters!

well buddy you wont find anything in federal reserves these days as they are selling their gold already and asking for soft loan from China.:rofl:

The M2k will be 2nd hand & its price will be some where less than 20 Million, now that isn't 'damn expensive' :what:

emo-girl, ma'am, and all other intrested in the mirage deal, it is a loist story. infact it was never on the cards and was just a mis quoted statement. for more information you may visit the relavent thread and it will clear it all. as for this thread, all i will say is that we are not going for the UAE mirages!!

20 million isn't big... but the question is should we keep different platforms? i mean our mirages will expire soon and will be replaces with JF-17s.

first of all , i doubt will it come handy in paf doctrine.

second , its a fighter well used by indian. so india got upper hand.

third, the upgrade is damn expensive for this fighter, each fighter cost around 40 million euro to upgrade. so india chuked out the plan.

foruth , paksitan dont have the money at all, american $ can only be spent in buying american fighters.

fifth, the numbers matters , since maintanance of small number will turn out to be too expensive.

well a second hand plane for 20 million is expensive if not damn,,:lol:
we will have to spend some good money in upgradation and stuff,,,
however i dont know why i am saying this all,, this deal is never going to happen. you must check the relevant thread and you will understand what i am trying to say,,:agree:

The brand new M2K is of 23 Million
So it got to be less than 20 million if we buy it :confused:....

according to original plan where we were to make them here at PAC kamra, we were to manufacture lot of components but now the job has been left for chines in order to creat room for JF17 production. now we are going to get them from China!!

I am afraid but that is wrong.

Yes we didn't take on the 'full production' of the aircraft for economic reasons, but we still manufacture components of it like I said (front fuselage). The assembly line was decided against not all manufacturing. PAC still produce(d) the front fuselage.


K-8 fuselage handed over to China

ATTOCK, Nov 5: Pakistan Aircraft Manufacturing Factory (PAMF), Kamra, handed over the first front fuselage of K-8 aircraft to Peoples Republic of China at the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC), Kamra, on Tuesday.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony, the PAC chairman, Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Khan, appreciated the efforts of the PAMF in establishing itself as a recognized equipment manufacturer with an ultimate goal to manufacture a modern fighter jet for Pakistan Air Force.

The handing over documents were signed by the managing director of the PAMF, Air Cdre Zakir H. Khan, and the Chinese defence attache, Maj-Gen Saa E. Chee Khua.

The PAC chairman said the PAMF could rightly take pride in its accomplishments as the designing and development of K-8 itself was an achievement.

The induction of the aircraft in air forces of Pakistan, China, Egypt, Myanmar, Zambia, and Namibia bear testimony to this fact, he added.

He said the PAC had immense potential to grow and it was the prime organization for production, repair and overhaul of military aircraft and equipment.

“Today, the PAMF has completed assembly of first front fuselage, which shall bring us closer to the envisaged goal of achieving 25 per cent production of airframe structure at the factory.”

We are also in the process of evaluating transfer of technology programme, which is of national importance, the chairman added.

He appreciated the support and understanding extended by the CATIC and Hun Do Aviation Industrial Group, China, with the PAMF throughout all the phases of the K-8 project.

Earlier, highlighting the achievements and features of the PAMF, Air Cdre Zakir said the K-8 project was launched in 1986.

He said the K-8 prototype flew its maiden flight in 1991 and after all designs parameters were successfully achieved, both the sides vowed to continue co-operation in small batch production phase.

The managing director said the contract for transfer of technology of front fuselage was signed in 1999.

The production schedule stipulates manufacture of three front fuselages in 15 months out of which first fuselage has been completed, while assembly of second and third is under way and expected to complete in time, he added.

Air Cdre Zakir said that front fuselage comprised of aircraft nose cone, front and rear cockpit, nose landing gear, aircraft gun and canopy.

“Pakistan and China together have successfully accomplished many projects in the past and K-8 co-development is an example which can be proudly quoted.”

The K-8 is a stepping stone to get involved in projects like co-development of Super-7, a light combat aircraft, which is scheduled to make its maiden test flight in June, 2003, he added.

The K-8 was announced by Nanchang Aircraft manufacturing factory (NAMC) during the 1987 paris show, then named as L-8 as a proposed trainer aircraft looking for international partner. PAC became that partner 25% share) to jointly develop the aircraft (PAC had its own design too).

In Nov. 2005, after successful transfer of technology, the serial production of K-8 front fuselage manufacturing commenced. First batch of serial production comprises 05 front fuselages. Two front fuselages have been manufactured and remaining 03 are under production (old news now?)

the cost of m2000 is 23 million and not for m2000 9 version the cost to upgrade the indian m2000h to m2000 9 is costing 40 million per plane and i dont think uae will be thinking of selling its planes because resently it upgraded its m2000 to m2000 9 standards

finally a man that is up for it! now we are two need a couple more guys good in various fileds and we are on ;):agree::smokin:


jokes aside its the billionth time people here have said let's buy M2K or RAFALE or JXX or XY or YY god knows....i guess it all comes down to how much money we got for our airforce....and keeping that in mind JF-17 and a couple of squadrons of F-16s and J10Bs is all we can do at the moment!

well 20 million dollars or let's say 15 million dollars our airforce currently can't get a squadron of its on JFs which is around 14 million a fighter with upfront cash and is actually going for soft loans....i guess M2K is not feasible....

reality is very different from what we would wish it was! :pakistan:


but we don't give up hope i am sure the UAE government can help us out....;)

here we were supposed to make some components that you have correctly mentioned at home but now as the JF17 enter production line the projet is moved back, (note a say moved back) to chian to clear space for the JF line.
i hope you understand it now. someone from inside the force can confirm this to you. by the way it is quite simple isnt it???
