Honorable Sir,
Speaking purely as a “Human being” and as a Pakistani Muslim, letting Shakil-ur Rahman visit his dying brother would have been a “Human” gesture. Anyone having the slightest bit of empathy with his fellow humans would agree that NAB was being extremely ‘Callous’ for denying this right to Shakil-ur-Rahman. It took a letter from Dr. Shireen Mazari before NAB granted permission. But alas it was too late.
Can anyone imagine how one would feel if his own brother was on the deathbed, but was having difficulty getting permission from the authorities to let him have the last look at his brother before it was too late?
Muslim League Q had been called “Qatil League” by the PPP after the Liaqat Bagh tragedy but nobody at that time raised hue & cry about the use of this word. I concur that calling your Prime Minister “Qatar” is highly inappropriate and PTI stalwarts have some justification in hating Umer Cheema. But how did the “Liberals” come into the picture? Umer Cheema could easily be a Conservative.
Obviously Liberal haters, who think that “Heartlessness” is a virtue and having ‘Milk of human kindness' is a despicable quality, abound in this forum.
By the way, the first time I heard the name of Umar Cheema was in 2010. Whatever he may be but he must have stumbled on something that annoyed the Establishment.
