LOL you saw the Strike of PIA when they wanted just to privatize the PIA and you want them to just kick off the unwanted Employee yeah Right spot on

there are 38 Planes in the current Fleet of PIA is we go to International standard of 150 Employee per plane that makes 5700 Employee in PIA means Gov should kick 13800 Employee just like that even if we goes for 200 Employee per plane that makes 7600 Employee yet there are 000's of Employee....

Now coming to the Fleet

In 2013 the Fleet of PIA was 15 Planes and now After Leasing the Planes from Different Countries and Companies Like Viatnam Czech Republic and TCS the Current Fleet is now consists of 38 Planes but did that reduces the Financial loss??? NO

The PIA is in Loss because of Bad quality Service Incompetency mismanagement and number of Employees

Those are new planes, fuel efficient, with probably more seating than the 12.5 year old average of PIA.

Want to fix PIA?

1. Change the freaking name. Pakistan Airways? Eh good start.
2. Fire everyone. Hire back on contract basis, and work ethic.
3. Hire foreign aviation gurus. With complete authority over the company.
4. Take back the routes PIA gave away to Emirates, Qatar, Turkish, Saudi, KLM, Malaysian, among others.

Asking $4-5 Billion?

The US government bailed out GM back in the day. The lowest price of their stock was $1. Even then it was $0.99 cents too high. PIA is worth squat. The only thing they have going is the non core properties they have. No buyer buys a company and agrees to pay the ridiculous debt that company accumulated over the years.

why don't you people realize, we are the people who once made this airline amongst the greatest in the world, and that we can do it again? all we need is the right leadership and those days of glory can come back! we dont need china or arabs to do everything! if we don't trust ourselves who the **** will ever trust us?

You have money but no way to spend it wisely what's the point? PIA is a business that can return to how it used to be remember the people who built the airlines of the gulf states required assistance from PIA to set thing up. Nawaz is alrraedy selling stuff like crazy the economy temporarily looks good on paper but there's no constructive plan to spend that money to improve the economy in the long run.

sadly you are right. I desire to see a Pakistan again like the one our grandparents lived in. first step to fix this country is abolish quota system. as long as that devilish law exists our bureaucracy will remain inept and corrupt, full of illiterate people who get jobs merely on the name of quota.

All over the world (even in communist countries with command economies) the trend has been to move a much as possible into the private sector. For a start it divorces the operation from political nepotism and in addition it incentivizes performance. So the provatization is the only way forward. It sickens me to see billion after billions of dolars sunk into this parasite called PIA that could have been used to build thousands of schools, universities, hospitals, roads etc

As regards the past that was the past. I know it is not popular thing to say but that time will not come anytime soon. It was unique because the British left in 1947 but their legacy - entire generation of coconuts administrators (brown sahibs) recruited, trained and cultivated by them in the shadow of their white masters ran the country for a generation until they began to retire post 1970. By 1977 most of Pakistan was being ran by "desi" sahibs who had joined the system post 1947.

You can clearly see how things start to take dip post 1970 and nose dived after 1980s. Even old pictures of Pakistan cities allude to British past of tidy, order, well manicured, clean cities

All big assets inside sindh gone bankrupt for example STEEL MILL, PIA, KESC just because of corupt lootera ppp & mqm assigned corrupt staff from cleaner to managers and directors. If govt shift all big assets headquarter in Islamabad instead of Karachi and controll them through Islamabad restrure and hire all new staff on merit basis then may be improvement came otherwise in future maybe in next tenures of again PPP & MQM the remaining part of assets will also be sold at scrap prices same like steel mill.
