The best way to approach the problem is to leave the issue of anyone's personal feelings on day of judgement. If they treated any companion of prophet wrongly they will answer to the all mighty

I respect every companion of Prophet and Hassan/Hussain and Ali all of them , and respect is 100% equal

However in term of if they are Muslims are not I see no difference between Saudia or Iran, when you , proclaim that you believe in Allah and his last prophet , it means you are Muslim. How you treat companion of prophet's is your personal choice and every one will be held answerable to their own choices in life and judgement
