Qadri announces to participate in elections

. .
If i have a choice between Nawaz and Qadri, i'd opt for the later.

After Bush was elected twice, people in America were seen crying during next election campaigns ''anyone but Bush''!

Same will happen with Nawaz in next election campaign. :D

No, the circus has just begun. IK will be moving towards Multan, Hyderabad, Quetta and God knows where else. Soon protests will break loose all over Pakistan, and not only Punjab. PMLN and PPP are also holding rallies to counter IK / Qadri crowd. What a bunch of losers sitting in government.

You did see his circus in Karachi where at least 1 lakh people were present. Then Lahore where at least 3 lakh people attended. And today Mianwali, hometown of IK where there was massive crowd. Only PPP leader ZAB was popular enough to pull that many people for a cause.

Yup people need entertainment in this country. IK is providing exactly that.

Forcing the current government to resign is not the solution which can be used on them one day. Join the system and bring change in the system from within. The system tends to evolve all the times, and perhap with this party can bring some of Islamic rules and protocols as this party so desire which can be possible if this party works within the system to bring change.

PMLN is not going to last forever. A little patient is required for the time-being.

When he is going to leave his canadian nationality to participate in election?

i dont take him seriously. Read why he resigned before and these reasons are still valid

In the general elections on 20 October 2002, Qadri was elected as an MNA (Member of the National Assembly) of his Lahore constituent.

On 29 November 2004, Qadri announced his resignation as a Member of the National Assembly.Explaining his resignation he cited the President's broken promises, political corruption and blackmailing, the undemocratic system, institutional inabilities, failures of accountability, the sabotage of National Assembly, global issues including Pakistan-US relations, international terrorism and US global domination, Israeli aggression, the Iraq war, Islamabad-Delhi relations including the Kashmir dispute and Pakistan-Afghanistan relations. His 41-page resignation statement is available online to read.

The party decided to boycott the Pakistani general election, 2008

Technically if it serves the counterbalance to Jui and Juf this is the best could happen to Pakistan.

Besides holding march and protests Tahir ul Qadri has known to be modern, progressive and peaceful scholar... So it will be good for Pakistan in the long run if he can break the votebank of other religious parties
The fun part was when Hassan nisar was trying to explain, TuQ was not against system but to increase awarness among people.

I feel like 3rd option for people has lost it. I always wanted IK to play pressure game for other government, since he cant run the government for sure, nor have good stance for foreign policy of Pakistan, but after this episode i feel its finished. Now more brighter chance of PPP to register come back.

Imran Khan could have get more while putting pressure on full mandated PML-N, then PPP colliation. PTI could cash in a victory with 5 n half wishes while leaving resignation aside, but they choose a loss for Pakistan, economically, morally, and politically. I dont think in future any country gonna see Pakistan as a trusted Partner like china, turkey, ksa were looking Pakistan under Nawaz sharif.

Nothing wrong with TUQ coming to the Parliament, with kind of leadership sitting in the Parliament if TUQ is not a positive addition at least he not a negative addition.

Imran is kind of a leader who thinks things will only get better if he comes in power and he is willing to do anything for it, it kind of nadan dost or aqal mund dushman kind of choice we have.

exactly my thoughts... i even cast the vote to PTI in NA seat because no one of there from PMLN... so for me its WAS PTI the second option but now i think they are worst.....

Good post. It takes time for a real democratic system to evolve. IK often talks about democracy and the welfare system in Scandinavia and the West but people dont realize that it took centuries of evolution through which the current democratic and welfare system emerged in Western and Northern Europe. Here in the UK for example the Magna Carta in 1215 is seen as the beginning of the democratic process in the country yet it is only in the 1800s that the House of Commons (the part of the British parliament that people elect members to) gains supremacy. In other words it was a process of around 600 years before the peoples elected members of parliament could actually decide how the country was to be run. Im not saying that Pakistanis have to wait 600 years for real democracy to emerge in the country but it definitely doesn't happen in a couple of decades after independence either. Further if anything military coups and dharnas like these ones only take the democratic process in the country a couple of decades backwards as they undermine the very existence of the democratic process which refines itself through evolution.

...Qadri's statement tantamount to "letting the cat out of the bag"...albeit it is not an accident...he wants to be "in power" by hook or by crook...both Khan and Qadri have been given a nod for "mid-term" elections...
