Who is Dalai Lama? He is a religion leader or a politician? I thought Buddhist monk focus more on spiritual struggle rather than the dirty lowly worldly politic. If this Dalai Lama is a Politician, then he just use his religion to help his political agenda - and that is bad.

Dalai Lama: Putin wants to ‘rebuild’ the Berlin Wall | New York Post
The Dalai Lama blasted Russian President Vladimir Putin as a “self-centered” autocrat whose invasion of Ukraine shows he wants to “rebuild” the Berlin Wall, a German newspaper reported Sunday.
“His attidude is: ‘I, I, I,” the Tibetan Buddhist leader told the Welt am Sonntag newspaper.
The Dalai Lama, who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2011, noted that Putin had previously served as Russia’s president and prime minister before getting elected as president again.
“That’s a bit too much,” he said. “This is very self-centered.”
The Dalai Lama also that “while we had become accustomed (to the fact) that the Berlin Wall has fallen….President Putin seems to want to rebuild it. But he is hurting his own country by doing this. Isolation is suicide.”
The Dalai Lama even favorably contrasted China -- “China wants to be part of the global political system … I don’t have the impression this accounts for Russia and President Putin, at the moment.”
Meanwhile, deadly combat resumed in eastern Ukraine despite a cease-fire deal struck between government forces and pro-Russian rebels — including shelling inside the main rebel stronghold of Donetsk early Sunday evening.
A witness there said mortar attacks on the city damaged a bridge where rebels had set up a roadblack, Reuters reported.
Earlier, massive explosions rocked the outskirts of Donetsk near the government-controlled airport, with at least two houses set ablaze in the nearby rural village of Spartak.
The blasts could reportedly be heard all the way in downtown Donetsk.
A rebel statement said several insurgent fighters were killed when Ukrainian forces violated the cease-fire by firing on their positions in six locations, including near the airport, starting late Saturday night.
A 33-year-old woman was also killed, and at least four people were injured, by artillery fire on the port city of Mariupol, a key location for the export of Ukrainian steel where government forces have set up defensive lines.
Witnesses told The Associated Press that heavy explosions came the eastern outskirts of Mariupol, where the city council there said one serviceman was wounded when a checkpoint was hit.
The volunteer Azov Battalion said on Facebook that its positions were hit by Grad rockets, but did not give details.

Ahahahah. Dalai lama is right though. Putin has all but monopolized power in Russia. Its very dangerous when a country relies on one man rule, things can get messy when he departs.
So you can blame dalai lama all you want, but he's right. At least I admire people who aren't scared to say their mind/facts.
However, I admire Putin though, he's a good strategist, and knows how to play geo politics quite well. But he should know the west/U.S, we are still the dominant powers in this world. So if he keeps up with this, it will cost him more than he thinks.

Same thoughts as you Mike, I like Putin myself but dislike his "followers" (not that he should have any because hes a fucking leader not a religious prophet) as they all spout typical anti western crap for no reason like they are here when all that Dalai said is merely an observation, an observation of a man who has been in a position of supreme power for over a decade and will probably remain there for years to come. His best achievements come from the price of rising oil and even if hes fairly elected you must question a man who feels that need to always be the top dog, an unofficial dictatorship basically and he is right, very self centred indeed.

I don't .I think his major donors are western celebrities and western followers and he has to cater to their political mindset.

Russian govt is not idiots.But many like Anatoly Chubais or Yeltsin era politicans are outright thugs/criminals and buffoons. But they remain in place due to the western lobby and the industrial lobby,but Putin keeps them on a leash.
To the people who call Putin ,dictator ,there is no credible opposition other than KPRF(Communist party of Russia). If those guys come to power, oh boy ,we would have had nukes flying long ago.
