Actually no one is having any claim of copyright on kalam of these punjabi poets. I was talking about copying the style of original singer..for example many people think it was Gurdas maan who sung challa first and they never even heard of this singer who sung it first in 1977

similarly miss poja ruined the original song without even mentioning original pakistani singer..people shoudl at least give credit

Nobody thinks Gurdas Mann was the first to sing "Challa" because people liked Inyat Ali's song and then Gurdass Mann decided it to do for the Punjabi Movie. His career was in the dumps in the 80's and he took something popular and used it for his gains.

Apparently "Jugni" in it's current variant (as an attractive female) was first sung by Bishna and Manda (some unknown chaps) but Jugni is synonym with the Lohar's.

While Challa,Jugni,Heer Ranjha etc. are folk....the second song is just plain old thievery.Jagjit Singh has used a lot of Batalvi's work and he's a legend for many people while Batalvi died as a nobody.Have ever had a look at the Punjabi music scene ?Do you expect anything original from these auto tuned singers/lyricist.

Sorry but many punjabi across the border dont even know who is inyat ali and i personally clarified many people in uk when they told me its gurdas maan who own challa :D I like different version of many songs but i personally give credit where it due and it should be the original singer as i think its easy to remake or remix a song. Many people know about batalvi for example nurat also sung his song which i heard long ago and i found that it was written by him and he was even born in siaalkot distrct Pakistan
