Why we are still working on 2000 MWs only ... we should have worked on all 6 blocks and shsould have planned to get atleast 10K MW in next 5 to 8 years
For a good reason, I suspect. What if skeptics like Niaz sb are correct? What if the Thar Coal wont work or will generate power at an exhorbitant rate? The consequence would be that Pakistan would be saddled with 10 GW of stranded capacity with perhaps USD 15 bn of debt to service. It is better to be cautious when you are dealing with an unfamiliar animal. Here at least after you have made one plant run, you will know whether it is a good idea to go whole hog (if you will kindly excuse the reference to that unclean animal) with Thar Coal.
