Excellent...this govt is waking up a bit too late but still better than never..
We were really shocked when govt did not allow the Sikh community to hold referendum for Khalistan freedom but now IK got some reality knocked into his head by the circumstances.... but still it is too little. Pakistan should have started actively and openly supporting Kashmiri people

It’s a good move!! Pak needs to win in the “perception” part of the war showing her true, benevolent and tolerant face to the entire world with physical mega events with international vibes....

Pakistan should adopt the Turkey's approach in Syria.

This would have brought an abrupt end to Pakistan's international campaign against India.
In the 90's India got away with Kashmir only because of two reasons:
  1. Vajpaee (an internationally acceptable) PM was in the seat.
  2. He successfully convinced the world that Pakistan is supporting terrorist activities inside India.

But Benazir gave up the lists of Khalistan leaders in 90s, what exactly did they get in return for giving them? That should have been exchanged for concessions on IOK, we had stupid leadership at that time our hand was strongest

Kashmir and Khalistan will be free on the same day, if Pak can support them.

India has been openly supporting insurgency in Balochistan.

Agree 100% …. but the difference lies in whose side the world will take when an equal scenario affects India vs Pakistan. I think the answer is very clear.

Bhai! ... Can you please tell me what do you smoke?

No, the answer fed to you guys by the haramkhor & incompetent govt is totally flawed. In 1998, India and Pak did nuke tests and the world had to treat both equally. Remember, the world tries to pressure the one that succumbs to the pressure but negotiates with the ones who take a stand.. there are plenty of such examples in the world..

Even if this is a viable argument, there is wider context to this and cannot be ignored.
For example, 1). Pakistan is trying to claw its way out of the clutches of FATF. 2). There is a relatively new govt. in Pakistan (or was at that time) and had offered a hand of peace to India. This step, at that time, would have been contradictory. 3). US, where they would stand respond, was not clear at all.

I am sure Pakistan's NSA did consider, but decided to take a different route (the one we are seeing now :azn:)

Posted this in another thread but gonna leave it here as well.

"Road to Kashmir is through Indian Punjab". If Pakistan wants to achieve her strategic goals in the region Indian Punjab have to be supported in their struggle for Khalistan. There are multifaceted benefits for that for Pakistan, by having local punjabi support who still have some what soft element and more ethnic/linguistic connection with Pakistan than india, will make it very difficult for India to engage Pakistan from Punjab's border. Also, they directly neighbors Kashmir, Kashmiris haven't risen up against Indians as much as they should've had, probably because they are one against many. With one more bordering state being hostile towards india will be last nail in India's coffin. Also in OP, water issue is talked about. Kashmir is indeed primary water source but runs through Indian Punjab. And that's where Pakistan shall look in to.
