PTI MNA Kamoka is my class fellow so some information: Core issue in Faisalabad is of Sewage system! Until that is fully functional, road works/repairs and related works are all on halt. Main junctions have all been upgraded, cleared and flowing but the issue is the continuous blockage in medium junctions - majority of the big gutters/access points were paved over during PMLN tenures so it has been very difficult to trace the exact locations of the major blockages - expect digging of some roads to reach these buried access points.

Once this core sewage issue is resolved, road repair works etc will start immediately.

No BRT like projects that I have heard of. Priority is cleaning and sewage right now.

according to tooi wal, Punjab has been turned into Karachi! if buzdar had done showbazi like wearing knee height boots and waded into the water then that is what they wanted to see! not a solution that ends flooding of Lahore.

Punjab govt decides to expand underground rainwater storage project

LAHORE: The Punjab government on Thursday has decided to expand its underground rainwater storage project to other cities of the province after Lahore, ARY News reported.

The approval was given by Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar in a high-level meeting chaired by his in the provincial capital.

CM Buzdar said that rainwater storage projects will be started in big cities of Punjab and the reserves will be used in horticulture.

“The rainwater could also be made drinkable after purification”, he added.

The chief minister said underground tank with a capacity storage of 1.4 million gallons of water has been made in Lahore. A new sewerage line will be built from Larex Colony to Gulshan-i-Ravi.

It is modelled after reservoirs in Japan and the United States, which offer an effective use of water resources and disaster prevention especially in metropolitan areas.
