What this tells me is that the yearning for Pakistan still exists in Bangladesh and INdia (e.g. KASHMIR, parts of Hyderabad and Gujrat). No matter how aweful we are and how bad our economy does and how inept our politicians are, people still yearn to be part of us. it all goes back to the ideals of secularism vs the yearning for a progressive Islamic State...the one that has strong ties to Islamic world and creates world class economic zones and that is also a just state for any religions etc..people in Bangladesh and in India still in their hearts have a love for this ideal and hence their love for Pakistan knowing well that the present setup is definitely not Islamically inclined and is a n aweful and corrupt state with corruption making its way into the society...also knowing that we are an intolerant and wahabi state or becoming one. Imagine if Pakistan was progressing economically and has some semblance of justice and equality and spiritual balance, and religious freedom for all..then imagine how many people will yearn for Pakistan. This is also a lesson for us Pakistanis...we get demoralized because of our current state of affairs, but we don't realize that we are very lucky to have what we have

The prime minister of Bangladesh has said that the people of the country need to punish those who still love Pakistan despite living in an independent nation, BD News 24 reports.

“The people of Bangladesh must respond to those who have been lost in their love for Pakistan. They must be punished. We must make them forget their love for Pakistan,” Sheikh Hasinas told an event on Sunday.

“If we cannot do it, we will cease to exist,” she was reported as saying at the gathering, which was organised by the ruling Awami League at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in Dhaka.


The president of the ruling party in Bangladesh was of the opinion that the assassination of founder Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1975 had affected the people in the country greatly.

Hasina termed rival Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) founder Ziaur Rehman and wife Khaleda Zia ‘lovers of Pakistan’, saying the duo had grabbed power in the country after the killing of Sheikh Mujeeb.

Hasina scoffed at Zia, noting that the entire history of the country changed after 1975 as BNP made an effort to make people forget the events of 1971, which was evidence of their love for Pakistan.

Hasina stated that party which came into power after the assassination of Mujeeb did not work for the people.

“They did not want the country to progress. They were implementing the agenda of the Pakistani forces,” she alleged.

“Pakistan would be happy if Bangladesh became a failed state and they (Bangladeshi rulers after 1975) wanted to make Pakistan happy,” she added.

Hasina also mentioned HM Ershad, who came to power after Ziaur Rahman, in her speech. Ershad, the chief of a key ally of the Awami League, now serves as a special envoy of the prime minister.

It's quite obvious from her speech that she's referring to those who still hates Bangladesh as an independent nation. Yes, it may surprise people but these traitors r still among us. They r small in numbers but they r still present in Bangladesh.

She doesn't hate current Pakistan. If she did, she wouldn't have had any diplomatic relationship with Pakistan.

If u wanna call it as hatred then yes, pm SK hasina hates former Pakistani establishment for their atrocity against unarmed Bengali civilians in 71 war. But that doesn't necessarily mean she hates current pakistan or its people who are in no way responsible for the misdoings of their forefathers.

However, If current Pakistan govt had shown an honest intention to apologise for their crime in 71 war most of the mistrust between these two nations would've been gone by now but sadly pak hasn't done it yet rather its political leaders have made the situation even worse by issuing malicious statements against the war crime tribunal which Bangladesh considered as an impediment to the bilateral relationship between these two nations.

Keep dreaming. She's a patriotic lady and doing everything possible to make Bangladesh as one of the fastest growing countries in south east Asia. The possibility of US invading Pakistan in the name of killing terrorist is way more than the possibility of Bangladeshis revolting against hasina.

It strange what Pakistan has to do with Bangladesh , which is already thousands of mile away. On top Pakistani investor made billions of rupee investment in textile industry and produce jobs for locals. Pakistan can not do anything even if Bangladesh become province of Inida.

I m sorry my friend, u r absolutely wrong. We aren't subservient to anyone. Our relationship with China is deeper than our relationship with india.

As for Burma, well they will eventually pay for their misdoings against Rohingyas.
