Before, the era of industrialization, the cattle has served the human more than the dog, but people are still treating them as the source for meat.

Well said @ChineseTiger1986 . I agree with you. It is easy for us to tend to criticize the customs, practices of foreign people, while failing to recognize some of the equally-lambast-able practices of our own societies. Its important for us to be objective and note that while there are some groups in a particular society that practices this, the majority of people do not.

I know for one that in China the MAJORITY of Chinese citizens do not eat dog meat, cat meat, or what not. Same goes for people in Korea, Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand et al. In fact there are animal protection laws that are passed in these countries that tries to protect the rights of animals, and are actively trying to prosecute people who do these. The legislation is there, the policy is there, but it is impossible to completely stop small groups in said society that will pay the market price.

Let's be realistic. It's like nations outlawing drug paraphernalia such as Methamphetamine, Cocaine, Cannabis, et al. Yet there is a black market in societies.

It doesn't taste good when its cold tho. Some Koreans say that dog meat is best served warm, its not good after it gets cold. It has a particular odor afterwards.
