Pubs bar African nationals in Bangalore

Take it from a guy who has seen this happen for himself ......dude if you come over to one of ours pubs , and start acting like a jerk ---

eg. Africans with Dreadlocks , and bags ---putting their feet up , acting rowdy .

eg. East asians with piercings and tattoes , smoking stuff and all .

you will be booted out .

Bangalore clubs are not mariuana smoking hubs --- they are far more sophisticated , going by the company within ....frequented by professionals , sometimes even families --- drinking expensive stuff etc . Anyone spoiling the atmosphere aint tolerated here.

No worries, I was actually giving Tin Can Tam a jibe because from he's keeps double talking and giving other shyte. But I fully understand where you're coming from and respect that. In fact I been to several clubs in Hyderbad its all very nice.

It is indeed a racist way that these pubs bars are handling this. not all are from nigeria. neither all nigerians are into drug business. there are lot of stereotypes that is attributed with blacks. infact, Indians still call Derogatory word "Negro" to classify African people :|

indeed, don't cry when you face racist attack in other countries, when we have also the same racist feelings to others.

Are clubs in India safe? Are there ones where you can pick up girls but no crazy drugs, gangs, guns, etc?

Pubs and bars in Bangalore are denying entry to nationals from Cameroon, Nigeria, Ghana, Tanzania and other African countries citing security reasons, as the common belief is that all ebony-skinned people are 'drug peddlers', 'scamsters' and 'trouble makers'. Bangalore has a sizeable student populat ion from the African continent - 20-somethings from countries as diverse as Cameroon and Nigeria, Ghana and Tanzania. However, at most of the city's hep clubs, all dark-skinned people are strangely 'Nigerians' and to be avoided, though they don't say it out aloud.

At most of these bars and pubs, blacks are generally frowned upon. In most cases, a group of black males, unaccompanied by women gets responses varying from a polite - "sorry, prior reservation needed" to the outright rude - "please leave".

At one of the sports bars, which had the most number of complaints, the head of marketing said it was "security reasons" and not racism that made them discourage blacks from coming. Besides, the bar's other clients were uncomfortable with black-skinned people around, he said.

One of the local papers carried out a sting operation in four of the city's major hotspots - Xtreme Sports Bar, Indiranagar, Athena, The Leela Palace Time, Xtreme Sports Bar, Kammanhalli Main Rd and Fusion Lounge, Brigade Road and found that Afro-nationals were indeed not allowed in by the officials citing varied reasons like "private party" and "stags not allowed".

Others can advise better but usually the rule for the better clubs is you need to bring a girl with you otherwise no entry. Two guys does not count lol but it was all very safe. Hyderabad was safe to walk out at night too, safer then the UK at times.

Not necessarily -- the couples only -rule is only in Discos , not in the general clubs and bars .....

Indian Clubs Discriminate Against Indian Men...Forget Black or White. It is very costly for an average person like me to go to a club and drink some Irish Whisky unless i have a girl with me. What am i supposed to do? Rent a girl for a decent peg of Liquor? Bloody Racists:lol:

But Bangalore pubs are NAICE.

This smacks clearly of stereotyping, racism probably involved though it seems to be targeted at a bunch of men trying to get in. If women are in the group, entry is assured because the idea is that such groups rarely get into scraps over other girls. It is common practice for many pubs in Bangalore to bar entry for "stags" (non-regulars) especially if it is one where there are lot of women present. Sometimes cover charges are levied where men on their own end up being paying double of what a couple might pay.

I'm however making no excuse for the behaviour of the management of these pubs. Indians are big at stereotyping others as racist for every small incident. Only fair that the same charge be levied against Indians who are guilty of such racist stereotyping. Regardless of any fear (genuine or otherwise) of trouble makers, it simply won't do to tar an entire community with the same brush.

Not really that unfortunate.

Now tell me the terrorists are running wild in Pakistan.

Who do you blame for laxity or failing to bring it under control?

Can you differentiate a terrorist by his country of origin before they act?

The drug cartels are no less than terrorists.

The only way to solve it is like Singapore.

Then you will howl = human rights abuse!

What are you talking about my friend? Read my other posts if you so please, I react the same way if this is Pakistan, India, or any third country. Man made boundaries are secondary to me, far behind humanity. I am not swayed by a few years of discontent between our nations, when we spent hundreds of years in harmony, so I am not attacking the way things are done in India...just pointing out the fact that if the authorities did a more able job, such a misconception against the African community would not form. I feel the same has happened in Pakistan, with our government openly supporting terrorist organizations, before turning on a dime in the last few years...leaving a highly confused population being pulled in two different directions.
Racism is racism...and I will call it human rights abuse no matter who is responsible, I cant differentiate a terrorist by the country of his origin, but the authorities should be trained to do so...what else are they being paid to do.

Yes racism is racism.

But drug peddling is also drug peddling!

A terrorist is a terrorist.

Colour and creed is not material.

Why only feel that the they exist because of the laxity of the police?

A dreaded terrorist with a huge ransom on his head, Osama, was living for years in Abbotabad.

Is it the fault of the police?
