What's new

PTV going HD.

4K in the media world is still quite rare. Even in the West.
It's quite common actually. I bought a 4K Tv nearly three years ago. 4K is the present 'go to'. HD is so 2000s. It is has been. And I agree PTV should go for 4K so that it is future proofed because chances are the next change will come in another 50 years.

I am talking about content bro. I also have 4K TV's. 4K content in the mainstream media is rare to non-existent. Full HD content is more common.

If PTV is revamped to provide HD/full HD content it will be huge.

Current biggest content maker are Netflix , Amazon ,Youtube and few other just check how many shows are already in 4K and HDR
Almost every month a new series is coming in 4K
I get what you are saying but i m talking about looking for ahead and saving in long term follow the times why Pakistan always needs to lag behind,
If Pakistan focus on 4k instead of HDR , they will need improve many things specially high speed internet at decent price which is other story.
Chinese companies are already making decent 4k tv at pennies cost so it's affordable , it will open new market for Pakistani avam
So Pakistan can match world instead of lagging a generation behind in every thing ,

Just check current Pakistani online streaming channels and compare with others

I am all for it, but I don't think 4K is realistic at this time. I think cost is also an issue. PTV is going to have to invest in equipment and other things to be able to broadcast 4K. It is quite an undertaking. Full HD looks more like a feasible target to me. It is more mainstream and probably PTV already has the infrastructure setup. If they can broadcast 4K that would be absolutely awesome considering that almost no media group is at that level yet.

. . .
I am sure they do. That is of course also a factor.

The government is confused. Its focus on a very narrow spectrum is alarming.

And to have the shameless gut to Talk about a pre concieved 100 day Plan when its been a month of indecision

FHD thing of Past , max 2 to 3 years FHD will be outdated with newer mobiles supporting 4K at 30 and 4K at 60Hz
many of small creators will use that
Pakistan needs to build infrastructure thats the best thing why invest in a outdated Tech, when you can Take extra time and Work for platform which will give them decade or so to work around and they can learn newer Tech.
Chinese 4K hdr Tv cost around $ 300 to $ 500 for 40 Inch , normal cost in Pakistan for HD TVS
This Will give push to Build from city to city and than to street to street fiber connections .
With this Local and international ISP have to Fight for high performance at low cost and will create many jobs and with the help of China Pakistan can build a decent industry even companies like hi sense to invest in Pakistani industry
