PTI's Asad Umar speech in overseas Pak convention, Isb, can he be the next PM of Pakistan

Asad Umer's job was terminated in the Corporate sector for putting the company near to bankruptcy by very large capital project.
If I remember correctly, it was the largest fertilizer plant project for which there was not enough gas.

Also for hiking fertilizer prices artificially to the detriment of the farmers and monopolistic behavior which was punished by Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP)

Contradicting posts…

His brother was governor. If he becomes PM, it would be the most normal occurrence of keeping it all in family as Pakistani politics is known for.

It won't take long for you to call him DHA mafia either.
dha mafia is above all! aaamm logon may ginti nai inki!

Who do you think in PTI or elsewhere can take the reigns from PM IK, there is no one around, dur tak koi nahi hai.

Think that Asad Umar is a better choice but still he is not a leader like PM IK, can be a good PM though, not that tough and taking things headon, leading from the front.

What are the news about COAS Bajwa speech at LUMS Lhr today, did he said anything about PM IK.

Asad Umar and at a later stage like 2033 election, Murad Saeed. We need energetic PM like Murad.

1. That plant is a success. A quick Google search give me the idea. You can also look into it more.

2. I went through the link and it's article. Nothing against Asad Umar directly but still there is a link as he was the CEO at that time. But that's the issue of price hike. A different matter. Our (yours) initial issue was about Asad Umar bankrupting Engro. Which isn't true. Engro is still strong as it was 10 years ago in times of Asad Umar.

PM requires political cunnning and the ability to make hard sacrifices on your vision. I dont think AU is capable of doing that, he left the Finance ministry under a releatively smalll amount of pressure.

He could make a good CM though.

1. Either the company was on the brink of collapse or it was making undue profits. Can’t be both. It reported loss for only 1 FY before which it was making very good profits.

2. The losses were not due to wrong business decision but government diverting the gas.

3. He was not the executive of the company in question but rather the corporate office.

The company must have jacked up prices to cover the large capital investment.

Anyway both Asad Umer and Shah Mehmood Qureshi are candidates for post of PM.

I am not against him. Just presented the facts.

Jkt was behind AU removal and IK down his heart regretted his decision a lot later on. JKT convinced IK that AU was not doing his job well by delaying IMF deal. This later also turned out to be one main reason of differences in between IK and JKT moving forward.

only one part of the whole story: mushi promised preferential access to gas to asad umer, that was the basis of that decision. in mushi's later years and in zardari's time the country was hit with a severe gas crisis. the decision he took was based on the data at hand at that time. no one can predict the future.
