PTI workers misbehave with PML-N’s female MPA

HAFIZABAD: Incidents of clashes partially disrupted polling for by-elections at PP-107 (Pindi Bhattian) in Punjab, SAMAA reported.

An untoward incident took place in Pindi Bhattian where scores of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers surrounded PML-N’s female MPA Salma Butt and pushed her when she arrived at a polling station.

However, she managed to leave the scene in her car.

Mob misbehaved with the woman politician, a day after she slapped on face of PTI’s male MPA, Asif Mahmood, in Punjab Assembly allegedly for making derogatory remarks against her leader Imran Khan.

Tough competition is expected between PML-N and PTI candidates in the fray for provincial assembly seat.

Display of arms by ruling PML-N workers was also witnessed at some polling stations.

Meanwhile, speaking to SAMAA, Punjab Law Minister, Rana Sanaullah, said that those displayed arms would be arrested, adding that Rangers and Elite Police commandos have been deployed at polling stations in Hafizabad’s Pindi Bhattian tehsil.

He claimed that PTI worker were involved in casting fake votes.

About the incident of slapping, the minister said action would be taken against the PTI lawmaker according to the law.

People queued up to cast their votes as polling continued at 154 polling stations, out of them 16 declared ‘sensitive’. Over 1,75,000 voters including 74,000 women are registered in the constituency. - SAMAA
